There's only so much tweaking you want to do, especially with the comradery this team has. This can completely back-fire & don't think this move was necessary. That said, a WS win will go along way to mend fences.

I haven't touched a computer in about a month, so finally getting a chance to catch up on some things.
This trade definitely caught me off guard. I would have been fine running with Gray, Kazmir, Chavez and Pomeranz in the playoffs. I definitely like the trade for Smardzija, even though Hammel has been pretty terrible for us, because Smardzija, Kazmir, Gray and Chavez would have hands down been a better rotation than that of any other playoff team. Lester does, however, give us another "true ace", which will greatly help if we end up in a 1 game playoff.
Cespedes was a high price to pay, but I'm willing to wait and let the results speak for themselves. Donaldson is the one who has the fan backing and appears to be a bigger team leader. I do think we will miss Cespedes bat and defense a little bit, but I could easily see the positives outweighing the negatives in this trade.
