Shit just keeps rolling in.

I lost my mom to a massive stroke yesterday. After making all the funeral arrangements I find out my step mom was put on a life flight to Creighton University from Atlantic, Iowa. Kidneys are failing.

Thoughts and prayers going out to you and your family. I lost my dad 10 months ago.

As for your step mom, if it's kidney failure without any other major health issues, it can be dealt with fairly well. My mom lost her kidney function 7 years ago. I'm not going to say it's been a walk in the park for her or otherwise try and gloss over the severity of it, but dialysis treatments work pretty well.

Thanks guys. To be honest, I never really liked my step mom. But after 27 years in the family you do grow somewhat attached.

She has stabilized some since last night. I am going to visit her on my way to my mom's viewing.

I am gonna ask her to hold on for a few more days so I can get a whole new week of grievance leave from work....
