Decided to start this thread early. Will use it to post anything related to the 2018 WC
On a side note, did a double-take at a U17 World Cup score I saw flash across the screen... It was Iran 4 Germany 0 ...
Something I don't know about Iran's up and comers?
Where is the WC 2022 thread???
This is what I am reduced to reading:

That performance by Cameron was one of the worst I've seen. But when the other guys aren't playing well either you can't cling to one performance as a reason to keep sitting a guy if the alternatives just aren't very good. I was glad to see him sit out the next match because I thought it was deserved (I would have pulled him during the CR match). But at some point you have to realize that trotting out those other guys is not good and put Cameron back in and see if the message sunk in. Same for Johnson. He was not good at all but he also wasn't in playing shape yet. I was OK with not starting him, but leaving him off the team altogether when he could provide depth at multiple spots???This link was more painful:

What a waste...
You could get
Germany, France, Brazil
Spain, England
Sweden
Serbia, Korea, Japan, Srayla
I saw the pots today. Germany, France, and Brazil can't be together. They are all Pot 1. Spain and England in Pot 2 and Sweden and Denmark in Pot 3...but there are rules that no more than two Euro teams in one group..so you could see a Brazil or Argentina with Spain and Denmark or Sweden together. That would a tough group. Anyone who gets Spain from Pot 1 won't be happy either. But don't Top 2 from each group move on ?
Yeah i mean one team from each of the lines, not them all togetherI saw the pots today. Germany, France, and Brazil can't be together. They are all Pot 1. I guess the draw is this Friday. Will be fun to see which teams get placed where. Here's a backgrounder on the draw from Wikipedia:
Draw
Main article: 2018 FIFA World Cup seeding
The draw will be held on 1 December 2017, at 18:00 MSK, at the State Kremlin Palace in Moscow.[24][25] The 32 teams will be drawn into eight groups of four.
For the draw, the teams will be allocated to four pots based on the FIFA World Rankings of October 2017. Pot 1 contains the hosts Russia (which will be automatically assigned to Position A1) and the best seven teams, Pot 2 contains the next best eight teams, and so on for Pots 3 and 4.[26] This will be different from previous draws, where only Pot 1 was based on FIFA Rankings while the remaining pots were based on geographical considerations. Same as previous editions, teams from the same confederation will not be drawn against each other for the group stage, except for UEFA where each group can contain up to two teams.
