I'd pay to see that. Interesting fact, only Pro Hockey and Pro Soccer have true world championships, and nobody argues about who the world champs are when it's done. Baseball, Football and Basketball don't do this. They only "call" themselves world champs. A bit embarrassing when you think of it.
NHL isn't world champions

Yeah.

I don't watch anything but MLB on TV. But I can enjoy baseball at about any level in person.

I love the College World Series as well.

But then again, I love baseball more than anything.

I've never really been much for watching college baseball. Tried to play,(WMU hosted the first ever CWS btw.)but rarely watch.

I love minor league ball. Go to games quite a bit.

And In with you, baseball is tops for sure.

I enjoy it but the problem is That it is played during march madness and the USA team has failed miserably. Japan and South Korea have an advantage because it is played during their season. A DR vs USA championship gm would bring some mores eyes to the tournament

This came about since baseball got the boot from the Olympics. I wouldn't mind it so much, it wasn't Selig's brainchild. Fuck that guy and everything he did to baseball.

I'll probably go to the finals at Dodger Stadium this year.

I personally love the WBC. I hope that they don't get rid of it. I like how a lot of Major Leaguers play in it as well!

This World Baseball Classic could reportedly be the last one

Looks like this could be it for the world baseball classic. The numbers were not that great and from what the article says unless there is a huge turn around this will be the last one in 2017. I liked the world baseball classic in terms of seeing a player use the spot light to be scouted and probably signed to the MLB. Is anybody losing any sleep over not having the classic anymore?

It's fun but it's the very definition of "exhibition"...which brings up a story:

A 94 year old man goes to the doctor for a physical...

Ninety minutes later, the doctor says "You are in good shape, but you are every bit of 94 years old.".

"Thank you, doctor. That's great because I am getting married."

Doctor says "Congratulations! Good for you!"

94 year old man says "And she's twenty-four years old."

Doctor says "This is serious. This could mean death."

94 year old guy says....

"If she dies, she dies."

I have a hunch that pro baseball needs as many ways as possible to sort out potential talent.
That being my premise, I think the WBC will survive in some form.

Oh, they will care when they see Eric Gagne is making a comeback when he toes the rubber for Team Canada.
