It allowed us to see just how scary good Japan is. In a real World Series, what would happen? I would like to see that.

I completely disagree.

What you saw is that every great Japanese player is itching to participate and give their best performance so they can showcase themselves to MLB teams in the hope of getting signed.

A motivated team of the best US players would steamroll its counterpart from Japan.

It'd probably be similar to the ending of WWII

C - Posey
1B - Goldschmidt
2B - Dozier
3B - Bryant
SS - Seager
LF - Braun
CF - Trout
RF - Betts
DH - Donaldson

Kershaw
Scherzer
Syndergaard
Verlander
Kluber
Lester

A truly motivated and truly all-star US team would likely destroy any other country's team.

I'd probably take Cano over Dozier, but I agree with the gist of the rest of this team

Yeah, but it's hard to put a Dominican on a US all-star team. Maybe we just tell him not to talk, and give him a bucket of fried chicken to throw them off the trail?

Oh yeah. Duh. Maybe we can do the reverse Orson Welle's white face from Othello

While I do agree with you on that point, I would really enjoy the creation of the WBA (World Baseball Association) which would hold the World Baseball Championships every year. Even if a Japanese player was playing in MLB, he would play for his own nation's team during the World Championships. This is exactly what Pro Hockey has done for years. It's very exciting!!! If US players are the best, then let them make it so on the world stage. That's my humble opinion.

Id take Kinsler off Team Israel and start him at second.

Or just trade Braun for him.

(Machado would be my third baseman.)

To much poor quality baseball.

It's been better played than the last 2 World Series matchups that we've had.

And frankly it's not even close.

LOL! Cleveland or Chicago, or any MLB team for that matter, would win that event every year.

Wasn't what I said.

The past 2 WS have been ridiculously sloppy.

Way sloppier than the WBC has been.

Agreed. I watch the Carp and the Ham Fighters in the Japanese World Series when I was over there earlier this year and the quality of the baseball is inferior to that of MLB by far.

Fair enough. Myself, I find the WBC to be amateurish. It reminds me of watching the College World Series.

I've always wanted to go to Japan in general. But watching some Jap baseball is high on that list of stuff to do there.

The fan experience is better than the baseball. The fans have all these ritual cheers and you are expected to participate. We chose to do our part for the Ham Fighters because that is the team my friend who invited us roots for. Its like going to a Michigan-Ohio State football game.
