A bunch of value left at TE in Rd 2 ... also solid Safety's still sitting there as well as RB's (Guice, Chubb, Ronald Jones etc ...). Isaiah Oliver and Donte Jackson if we want Corner. Hernandez is still there if we want OL help.
Hernandez would be my 1st choice, followed by a TE like Oklahoma's Andrews or the SD State TE?

Is Reid still available? I assumed he was off the board?

I really hope they will take a TE at some point. There are a lot of very good TEs on the board and to add another for Wentz would be nice. TE, OT, RB, CB, S
The value at those positions is basically the same from 32 to 52.

didn't seem like NE needed a RB. Many people had Michel coming to PHI. Can't help but wonder if that is a FU from NE to us. Passive aggressive Belichick. But still a valueable player that went where he should. Just didn't seem like their need.

I trust in the FO. Will see what they do tomorrow. I would have rather picked TE Goedert personally. I'm massively worried about TE with Celek and Burton both gone and how much they helped in both pass blocking AND as receivers at times. We used 2 TE sets a lot last year. If Ertz gets hurt, we are toast! BUT, maybe there is one lower in the draft. I don't see Goedert lasting to our 2nd round pick.

I'm not a big fan of the trade back... but... I trust the FO. Time will tell.

TE is very deep this year ... we should be able to land one in Rd 4 to replace Trey Burton. Gisechi, Andrews, Ian Thomas, Chris Herndon along with Goedert all make a solid group. Dalton Shultz is a late rounder I've been impressed with when watching tape ... good seal blocker.

The odds the Ravens suck next year are actually pretty high. It could be a high second.

Dalton Schultz would be perfect with one of our fourth rounders, but in the second we need something a little more high impact--an offensive or defensive lineman, a receiver or a safety, etc.

According to a 2016 draft value chart :
Pick #32 = 590
Pick #52 = 380
2nd rd pick could be anywhere from about 250 (Ravens win Super Bowl) to 560 (Ravens finish with worst record)
Not to mention that moving up 7 spots in the 4th round is worth roughly 25-50 points.

If BAL makes the playoffs, it's a better than fair value deal.
If BAL misses the playoffs, it's a great trade.
If BAL finishes bottom 5, it's a Howie Special.

I wanted them to get the te from sdsu. It seems like they must have wanted Sony instead.

Stanford usually produced pretty solid TEs out on the left coast. I like Shultz as well.

My guess is they wanted to trade down all along, and got their wish.

I expected this....and I am in no way unhappy with how it went down. Getting a 2nd next year was a great play. It gives some more flexibility for moving around some today if warranted...or (most likely) it’s just nice to have this year.

I think there is recognition that this is about as complete a roster as one could hope for this year....relative to most teams, most years. And it will not be that way in years to come. Smart moving in my view.

A lot of developmental OL talent left. Any could be a target at 52.

Lots of DBs too. I think the one position we could really help the team next year is the #3 safety and dimeback role. The Corey Graham spot filled by a young athletic safety would be great. One that could be penciled in to takeover for either McLeod or Jenkins in the near future.

The other spot would be the 3rd TE. I don't think any rookie can block, but someone needs to get in the pipeline for that role.

Yup. A lot of CB's not really a lot of Safety's tho. Harrison, Reid and Bates are the only ones in top 64 or so. Between OL, S/CB and TE they should end up with a good talent.

Another draft when the Eagles didn't take a C, G, RB, TE, LB, or S in the 1st round.

So that leaves QB, Tackle, DLine, WR and CB.

That sounds about right.

Anyone done much looking at Trenton Thompson? 4/5/6 round pick but has good athletic ability and size. Has an impressive build. Could be a sneaky good developmental project at DT. I've seen him a lot as he is from my home town and played at UGA curious what others think.
