Murray, Li Na, and Djoker are on Center Court tomorrow.
Azarenka, Ryan Harrison/Dmitrov, and Tsonga/Melzer are on court 1

Melzer-Tsonga looks interesting tomorrow.

Maybe Dmitrov-Harrison, but I've never gotten too much into Harrison.

dimitrov should really just ruin harrison. they're about the same age, but dimitrov has actually committed to putting in hard work off the court like every other top 10 player. harrison is lazy. so is sock. the future of american men's tennis is really bad.

Both Madison Keys and Coco Vandewiegh won tournaments coming in to Wimby. Madison looked especially good. Sloane Stevens not so much. American women are only slightly ahead of the men unfortunately.

Like I said in the other threads, Sloane losing is not even an upset. Kirilinko was ranked higher before getting injured. Still, Sloane is not living up to her potential as usual.

As the Espn crew said it must really hurt Sloan to see other young americans win a title before her.

To be honest, I always thought Madison Keys could be a dominant player if she improved her stroke production. She has a great serve. Most women in the game have mediocre serves at best. Cant even count how many times you see a women trying to serve out a match and get broken. It is almost expected these days that's how bad it is.

Why was the Tsonga match stopped at 5-4 in the 5th? I didn't get to see any matches today

Oh I thought they were on center court and not one of the other courts. Makes sense

I agree Old Lion. Madison has a very powerful forehand that if she perfects it as Serena did with her serve, she would go very far with her fame barring any injuries.

I saw Coco's last match against Serena she was really, really good. All these young American ladies need to stay healthy by pacing themselves like what Serena and Venus did.

There is NO bad future, because the bad future is already here. Isner is the epitome of American tennis success. If up and coming guys look up to him I doubt they would go far. At least Roddick won a slam however fluke and lucky that might have been.

andy worked his ass off, devoted himself to getting better and fitter by spending a lot of time off the court.

he maximized his somewhat limited potential (really, he was just a serve and inside out forehand at his best) to win his major. well deserved.

i look at a little guy like michael russel. he's 36 and still works his ass off. he lost in a tough 5-setter today, but just imagine if he had the physical tools that players like sock or harrison have. he would be a top 15 player easily, IMO.

Don't get me wrong, I like Roddick but I felt that one of his Wimbledon and one USO he made withConnors was a more feel proud accomplishments than his USO win. I don't know why it's not clicking for the current generation. Some of them are physical specimens.

oh yeah, i know you appreciate andy. and i agree about us tennis. sock could be an absolute beast...easily as good or better than janowciz, and easily a top 10-15 player. harrison is a big muscular kid, very similar in skill set to andy. it's all about whether or not he chooses to put in the hard yards off the court.

if stefan kozlov can get up to 6'0 or above, he could be the real deal, too. he's 16 and already 5'10ish, so i think the odds are good.

This lull in the men's game will end. Not out of the current crop but a future champion. Everything hits rock bottom then a new wave comes. That would be awesome to start rooting for a local hero like we root for Nadal and Fed. I rooted for Pete after the Becker-Lendl- Edberg wave was settling down. Becker was my first tennis hero but I never tried to emulate him by buying same rackets and playing like him which I did for Pete and Federer.

We need a Dimitrov, or a Raonic or someone even better than that who is talented, and hungry and hard working and can put it all together.
