Don't get flashbacks of high school but this is a 2 part question.

Does the addition of Hillis cause Martin's ADP to drop and how far? Also, does anyone think Hillis will be a threat even in the least to Martin's production?

The only way Hillis hurts Martin, is if he smashes him in the face with a blunt object in the locker room.

Hillis may not even make the team, so I would not overact to this move. The only chance he hurts Martin is if he:

1) makes the team
2) wins the goal line job

Both of these things happening are highly unlikely since Hillis was a one-hit wonder.

Hillis more likely to hurt himself first

:agree:

Doug Martin had 11 total rushing TD's last year of which 5 were 5 yards or less.............so IF Hillis makes the team and IF Hillis wins the GL stuff (or Martin loses that job) then yes; if would have an impact on his FINAL NUMBERS but I don't see his ADP dropping one little bit. I own him in my keeper and I'm not worried...........

There is too much Hype for doug martin this season... He was great last season, but if you look at his splits it was just because he had some monster games against terrible teams...

Martin played all 16 games.................hit 100 total yards in 11 of them and had a real stinker against the Saints. Yes, he did have 2 monsters (Minny and Oakland) but just in yardage alone to be assured of 10 points in 11 of 16; I'd be happy with him as my #1................but I'm way happier with him as my #2 in my keeper (Foster is my #1).

I am not saying to not draft him, i would love to have him on my fantasy team again... I just wont reach for him... His numbers were too skewed!!!

Just curious, what backs are you drafting ahead of him? I see downside risk to every back in the top 10 outside of AP. Martin has the least downside of all the rest, IMO, with a 2000 yard 15+ TD upside.

Only if he trips and lands on him at practice.

Nice responses.

Ah yes... Foot's man-crush continues. Foot, between you and I, just bump him up to 99. You know you want to! Right now Hillis' fantasy value is somewhere in the barely-has-a-pulse sleeper range. Don't worry that he doesn't even show up on ADP yet.

Now I do agree that his numbers were skewed a little for those 2 monster games but then again AP had a couple monsters too that would skew his numbers...............I'll look it up when I get home but I would think just by the way the season went last year that if you were to take out the 2 high and 2 low games for the top 10 RB's I would bet Foster and Lynch would be your top 2 RB's. I'll mess with it from home.

About Martin's numbers being skewed - as a matter of practice I like to take away the best and worst games from the previous year if I'm using it as a bar to see if there's much skewing, and Martin's numbers change quite a bit.

For example, AP only drops from an average of 18.3 FF ppg to 18.1; Martin drops from 15.4 all the way to 13.8.

1.6 pts a week? Doesnt seem like enough to make a big deal about, and I'd still be happy with 13+ out of my RB1..but...the .2 pts per week re-solidifies just why he's the top dog.
