Keep in mind we can produce battle ready QBs: Brandon Weeden beats Colorado first start, 11-2, 12-1; Mason Rudolph beats OU in Norman second start, three 10 win seasons. Discuss.

We're not going to lose to Texas Tech. Retarded. What possible reason would they beat us for the first time in a decade, and in Stillwater?

Depends on the quarterback situation but I don't think so. Cornelius is a game manager and Sanders is a true freshman so the offense will take a step back. You can't replace what we had at wide receiver but we had incredible depth so we will be fine there. Running game will be better because everyone returns (and we get to see what Hubbard can do) and we are finally getting enough offensive line depth to overcome 3 years of shitty recruiting.

On Defense as long as Spencer is running the show I'm not holding my breath for improvements. The line will be good, linebackers are ok but depth is a concern. Corners were first time starters last year so that will likely be better (I hope). Safety we lost 4 seniors so that's probably a cluster.

I'd be happy with 8-4 and ecstatic if we are better than that

They have a defense now ya know.

And now that they have a defense, they don't have a QB that could throw it in the ocean if he were standing on the dock!

Such is the life of Coach GQ and the Red Faders.

So, the Stillwater guys win.

You want me to put it back up? Say the words, it was more than a month I think. I have shit going on this time of year. If you want I'll put it up for a month at the start of the season, when I'm on here most.

Okie St will make the same noise they make every year.

It'll be loud, but not loud enough.

The Okie St folks are in a difficult position. They don't know if they should just
except heart break or if they should gamble and risk a return to below average play.

They don't know if higher expectations are worth the risk.

Gundy will enter next season...his 14th...with a record of 114-53 .683.

When he arrived Okie St, all-time was 470-492-49 .489.

Gundy has been awesome by OSU standards. He has turned a consistent loser into
a consistent winner. But they still don't win titles and still get whipped by OU.

Gundy doesn't recruit good enough to surpass or even just pull even with OU.
Since 2000 (18 years) OU is 195-45 .813.

The OSU folks probably all know and understand that Gundy is not the guy to get
them pass OU...but they are afraid to gamble on finding somebody that might be
able to break even with OU. Pulling even with OU is directly on the path to winning
a title. You ain't gonna do one if you don't do the other.

It's their expectations not ours. The problem for them becomes, if they've accepted
getting beat by OU, yearly, then their players and coaches have also.

Thus...the noise will remain loud...just not loud enough.

The BigXII will be interesting next year. OU will get the nod, just because we are OU. WVU, will be runner up preseason, they go as Grier goes. TCU, because they are TCU. It's 4th,5th,6th and 7th that is wide open. Between OkieLite, ISU, UT and KSU. Any of these teams could be 4th or 7th.

It depends on the age of the fan.

Those of us who went to school pre-Miles know what it's like to hope for a bowl game only to finish 4-8. Younger fans don't necessarily understand what that feels like. To a kid in his early 20's all they know is we are a school that puts up PlayStation numbers and is competitive every time we step onto the field. They don't remember Nebraska beating us by 70 because they weren't alive when it happened. I think those are the parts of the fanbase that are more willing to take a risk on a coaching change. The rest of us hate losing to ou but don't want to go back to being Iowa State.

Long term the recruiting thing may work itself out. Before the SI article we were gaining momentum but that and the rise of Baylor and TCU really hurt us for a couple of years. Offensively that seems to be changing as we are getting more kids who were fans growing up. I mentioned WR talent earlier-the top recruit we got in '18 was an in state wide receiver OU didn't offer because it would have been pointless to do so. We have the best player in the state in the next class (and a fair shot at the top 3) for the same reason. It would take a massive streak to really turn the tide in state but it's definitely more positive than it was 5 years ago.

Defensively it seems to be a continual work in progress. I'm not sure what we are doing there
