Will Boise State ever enter an auto CFP conference aka "BCS" conference?

Big12 should and likely will add BYU and Cincinnati. Cincinnati helps bridge the gap with West Virginia and BYU is the biggest program still not in a BCS league.

If Big12 was to go beyond that, I would suggest Boise State and Colorado State.

I always thought Boise State fit better in Pac12 but Academic snobbery will keep them out. Boise State and Hawaii would both be good fits in the Pac12.

It's not academic snobbery that's kept them out of the Pac12. There was a very specific purpose to go to 12 and it took nearly a decade to get everyone on board to agree. At that, it only happened when they agreed to stay at 12 so every team not in the state of Cali had a guaranteed trip to at least one team in the state every single year for recruiting visits.

It would be a complete deal breaker to propose anything that changes that agreement. Going to 14 or more just isn't likely because of it. Given how the conference has grossly failed to deliver on the promised revenue with their network just not delivering, there is even less reason to listen to any other proposal.

Colorado and Utah were not their first choices. Nor their second or third. They wanted the larger prizes and bigger markets, but those deals fell through. The buffs and utes were the best of the options they had and really BSU wasn't that close to either. Both have an endowment over 1 billion dollars while Boise is under 100 million. That's not a small difference. They are both much much larger institutions with much more to bring to a conference.

If that was going to happen then it would have happened last fall. No chance of any of that now and for the foreseeable future.

Id predict the Big12 and PAC possibly merging near the end of our TV deals before you see the G5 schools added.

This one game alone means that Boise St., like Borat, lives forever.

Well, that right there is the very definition of "15 minutes of fame".

If beating Oklahoma once a long time ago is what you hang your hat on, you aren't going to make it.

Maybe Santa Clara will make a resurgence.

True, beating Oklahoma in those BCS games was pretty easy.

Was that yet another BCS game we kept you guys out of???

Actually we beat you guys that season, but Colt suffered injuries vs Kstate & a&m and we dropped both games. So actually a&m kept us out of that game. Good job representing the big 12 though

You were a better add than TCU... so you got that going for... which is nice.

WVU replaced Colorado imo, the Big12 had an outlier before as well it was just out west rather than east, upgraded there.
Again jmo but TCU was supposed to take A&M's spot and... as far as on the field/court/diamond... not a bad exchange if it HAD to happen iyam.

TCU added no market share whatsoever. They're a small private school. They bring pretty much bring nothing to the table aside from intermittently competitive athletics.
