The more and more I think about it I think JT will win the job. He was great last year even though Cardale won the 3 most important games. Remember JT also beat MSU and was good as can be. Put up 49 on MSU.

The defense got better and they were also at their peak when Cardale was playing. Other than his 1st career start and the Minny game the offense with him put up 42 points on every team he faced. Well Cardale and the offense put up 59, 42, 42 on elite teams also.

Either one would be great, but I think JT will win the job.

I think JT earned his Buckeye helmet stickers moreso than Cardale did. Cardale walked in when the team was fully meshed, JT was there for the growing pains.

I believe JK Scott earned an honorary sticker as well

But yes JT earned his starting position but him not being healthy this off season helped cardales cause as he's been getting all the first team snaps

The more I think about it, the more I want JT to be able to have his revenge on VTech. It's so hard to pick against Cardale, what a great kid... im sure we'll use both I just see this QB controversy as a bad distraction possibly in the season. Imagine one is struggling but he's been clutch down the stretch the past 3 games. Who does Urbs pick? It creates much tougher decisions and situations when you don't have a true #1. Yes it's good to have a great backup but last year was unique in that each guy knew their place. This year not the same.

The more people talk us up the more I worry, somehow Urban will need to convince them to not believe the hype.

I basically have been assuming this whole time that JT Barrett would win the job based on leadership and some considering him to be a better all around college QB.

However I got to thinking about something. Is there a team out there that can beat tOSU with Cardale at the helm?

We know that the two best teams in CFB last year could not beat tOSU with Cardale so who is to say that any team could?

I have been thinking JT as well now but it is very hard to go against Cardale with the success he has had in those three games. The captain thing is sort of confusing as well. Was listening to a Mike Golic cast and he was basically saying the even tho we as outsiders don't know a starter in a QB battle the players know. The players know because they are there every day ad watching it all unfold. If that's the case it's gonna be JT cause the players voted on he captain, right? Or were they just voting him bc of his leadership ability and sort of a consolation prize a la Kenny Guiton? Damn it Monday needs to just get here

I love JT and actually think he is the better QB, at least right now. But Cardale, the guy has something you need in a QB, he is big as fuck and is hard to get down. That can create time and open receivers. JT can run better and is pretty strong himself and gained about 20 pounds. Either way we will have a great leader at the helm, not sure who I would rather have personally, both great options.

Can I elaborate on this a bit.. I think JT will be our #1, but I think Urbs will have some offensive schemes that will utilize to all 3 QBs strenghts. I think we may see this Monday night in fact.

Well, I've been defending Cardale most of the season but I think the time has come. The gameplan, especially last night, severely leans towards JTs strengths. If the offense is going to continue to rely on the intermediate routes and zone reads then Barrett simply has to start. Pointless to keep starting Cardale if you keep trying things that everyone knows he just not strong in.

I'm glad this mess hasn't cost us a game, but I thought JT was an obvious choice. Hell, I didn't even think the competition was real. I thought Urban was using it for motivation.

The zone read is a game changer with JT in there. Defenses key in on Elliott when Cardale is back there, which IMO is part of the reason why our run game has struggled this season.
