Count me in. It would be a TV ratings nightmare, but I'm not one to ever give a shit about TV ratings.

In fact, I'll take it a step further and say that those who actually care about TV ratings are the ones that are watering our league down...

Yep, it is the whole reason that NY is so dominant in the NBA.

I think NBA league execs would be just fine with Houston. They have a strong fan base and are a pretty big market. Houston winning would also further establish a potentially heated rivalry between the Rockets and Warriors, which the league needs with Cleveland apparently slipping.

It is Toronto that would make those that care about ratings cringe. They will definitely be pulling for Cleveland or Boston.

I don't think anyone who post on this board frequently care about tv ratings because we're going to watch anyway.

I would be in favor of that for sure and it would be a breath of fresh air into a very stale league that badly needs it. Even though the warriors are always very fun to watch I think we've all had as much of them as we need, even though we're still likely to get a lot more of course.

I agree with the poster who wrote that toronto would be the league's "problem" with that, but usually they've managed to find, in one way or another, their "solutions" to that sort of problem, like in 2002.....

Might be biased, but probably not.

I would be shocked if either team makes the finals (or even gets past the 2nd round).

You would be shocked to see Houston get past the second round? The only team that can beat Houston in a 7 game series is GS.

I'll believe it when I see it. They may get to the conference finals, but they won't make much noise there. When has Harden or Paul led a team to any wins in the conference finals? Harden got one from the Warriors a few years back. Playoff basketball is vastly different from the regular season.

Just my opinion as a Harden hater, lol.

This Rockets team is perfectly constructed to oppose the Warriors. The Warriors in previous series didn't really need to bring their A game to win. They will absolutely need to do so against the Rockets. The sheer volume of quality 3 point shooters on this team make it incredibly tough to guard them. Also they arguably have a better small ball lineup than the Warriors overall (not on talent, but execution). The Warriors have a better defensive small ball unit, but the Rockets have much more fire power. Iguodala and Draymond aren't really consistent 3 point threats, but the Rockets can put 5 guys out there that shoot 37% or better from 3.

Toronto recently displaced Chicago as the third largest market in NA proper (sorry Mexico). If the NBA isn't cashing in on that and the fact that the entire country (Canada) will be watching, they are doing something wrong.

Yeah but won’t they all be watching that weird Canadian version of ESPN? TSN or something?

Plus everything I’m looking at still has Chicago 3rd.

With how global the game has become, I don’t know how important specific tv markets are to ratings anyway. It’s all about matchups.

The Warriors won't be going anywhere if all of their players don't get healthier - but I expect they will be by then
