Does it really matter? This offseason has proved to me that they don't give a shit, and are content being 4th or 5th in the East...

Dont see how Chen would be a nice pick up. That fly ball pitching stuff might fly at KC's park...but not in Camden Yards. No thanks. Id rather have Hammel back...and thats not a vote of confidence for Hammel....just a very mild "rather than"

they hired a guy that they keep compareing to ray miller loved him as a pitching coach hated as a manager . they are about raising the arms . look how fast the cubs got strop going and jake improved seems the reason to switch . we have the arms if we can train them . louth in lf and nolan as dh would be great for me . when nolan is healthy his legs and hustle will win you games . i do think that ryan will do better than brod will do .

Problem is it doesnt appear that we will be resigning either soon...as there is no positive news on either front...

As for Chen...wasnt he a 3 year deal with a team option for a 4th? How do we have him 3 or 4 more years?

Hey Ted just a follow up on this. Saw this today. Seems like Chen is in fact eligible for fa next year or year after.

Southpaw starter Wei-Yin Chen, who inked a three-year deal out of Taiwan before the 2012 season, is set to become a free agent after either 2014 or 2015, says Kubatko. (His deal contains a $4.75MM club option with a $372K buyout for 2015.) Though Chen's Baseball-Reference page indicates that he would qualify for arbitration beginning next year, and stay under club control through 2017, that is not the case.

Orioles Notes: Hardy, Cruz, Chen, Santana: MLB Rumors - MLBTradeRumors.com

yes so I guess yoon deal would be the same as chen . roch said it has something to do with chen being a fa over there before signing . yoon can be optioned this year only without his consent in 15 and after consent only . mlb need to apply the kiss rule to everything keep it simple stupid . so if chen doesn't do well he may be gone .
