biggest goal scoring off a cliff in NHL history?
without checking stats, Heatley might rival it
Warren Young went from 1 goal in a season to 40 goals with Lemieux and then back to the AHL.

Did I read that correctly? Aside from the blatant offside goal that was allowed to count, the penalty tally is 24-0 with SKA not being penalized in the series?

that penalty total was in the first game.
to be fair (reported) there was a misconduct in there,
so powerplays were only 7-0.

didn't think he'd catch Magic
missed time at WJHC, too
(I know Nilsson did it in fewer games)

the play is to crank it about a foot and a half to Scrivens' left and hope for a shin pad.
Ben should have just taken the face-off like that.

AHL drama unfolding

Toronto Marlies (baby leafs) took the first two games of the best-of-five,
and Utica Comets (baby Nucks) held serve at home.
Boucher leading the way with 3 goals (thank goodness he cleared waivers) and Goldobin with 6 assists.
Differnece seems to be Thatcher Demko .929, Garret Sparks .860

deciding game back in Toronto on Sunday

Boucher with a nifty dangle

Wahlstrom just missed a wide open net in the U18 gold medal game with 1 second left that would have tied the game. Finland Gold, USA Silver.

Alex Lyon, 94 of 95 saves for the win.
sends the home crowd home tired and disappointed. but mostly tired
Can confirm. Game ended about 1:10 or so. Didn't make it easy to get up for work this morning.

Lyon was absolutely on fire all night long.

I was invited out to a drop-in game a couple of weeks ago, and I knew the goalie I was facing pretty well.
it was one of those night for me, everything was going in, and on the 6th or 7th goal it was a snap-shot using the d-man as a screen, blocker side and bar-down.
well, it sounded nice so I did a big arms-in-the-air loop around the net, and then a second big arms-in-the-air loop around the goalie (a reminder, my friend, so it was completely in jest).

it was only after the game that I found out hardly anyone knew each other out there, so i just looked like a massive asshole. :D
