The 2013 ECF against Boston or the 1993 Patrick Division Final against the Isles?

I am going to say the 1993 series because that was the biggest upset in team history in my opinion. Best Pens team in history that should have easily won their 3rd consecutive cup that year. Still, I think that OT loss in game 7 is my least favorite sports moment of my life. Damn you Darius Kasparaitis!:gaah:

This got me thinking but couldn't find out what the Pens all time record is against each team. Am curious which team they have had the least success against in their history. My guess would be Montreal?

For me, it is the 93 team. I was guilty of looking past that series as I had visions of a Lemieux v Gretzky SCF. The 93 team was absolutely loaded with talent, but failed to get it done. I still think with a completely healthy Lemieux, that season would have ended with a third straight cup lift for Le Magnifique.

The loss last season just doesn't surprise me now looking back on it. They played right into the hands of how Boston wanted that series to go, with a choke hold on the clutch and grab, and Bylsma did little if anything to combat it with changing his strategy.

That series did seem in the bag with Hunter taking out Turgeon in the previous series. Little did we know it would rally the Isles.

1996 against FLA sticks out to me, but I was only 5 in 93 so I can't say I remember it.

I remember that happening and I was happy Turgeon was out. I was about 15 years old and didn't care about other players at all back then. All I wanted was a 3peat and the Isles killed it. Looking back, what an awesome effort by the Isles to stop that team. I am amazed how much that still bothers me. Why did I have to bring it up in the first place?:L

Yes that Boston series just pissed me off more than anything. The '93 series injured my soul.

All of the above? But 93 I still remember that like it was yesterday.

No worries, it's a very helpful website IMO, hope you have fun with it :suds:

Found it really interesting that Montreal has a losing record to only 1 team all-time.....Ottawa.

Makes sense, they haven't been the same since 1993.

I wasn't sure if the old Sens stats were a part of this record or not and Ottawa was such a bad team in the beginning(or 2nd beginning). That website could make a good thread alone by seeing what kind of interesting stats posters could dig up.
