He's gone after the bowl game no matter what. Cristobal is a damage control move. You may salvage part of the class and the current players who are just seeking a easy transition campaigned for him, but this creates a mess down the road. Enjoy.
i dont know about all that but only time will tell. not every hire will be a home run. ever program misses sometimes

Btw, Oregon's class is not that good and never was. If Oregon made this hire to try and salvage your current class - then  @ Oregon even more.

You were ranked up high because you had 25 recruits. You had about the #15-18 class overall, not a top5 class. You gotta look at the average.

Basically, about average for an Oregon class, maybe slightly above but not even your best in the past 5 years.

I don't know. There's something to be said about hiring the guy that the players want to play for. It's worked ok for USC so far. I'm not 100% convinced that Helton is the guy long term.

But, all things considered, I'm not convinced we would be any better right now if someone else had been hired.

I think we'll know more in another season or 2 when we are using Helton's recruits exclusively. But so far, I have very few complaints.

Don't be stupid, no one can just know the future. Yes, obviously I'm from the future.

You wouldn't happen to remember the winning numbers for any of the upcoming California lotteries would you?

This could be an awesome thread all to itself.

Does Texas have a 9 win season this decade?
When does Mike Stoops retire? :hope:

No, of course not, and no, sorry, he will have to be forced out.

Sorry, but this feels a lot like a younger version of Mike Riley. Nice guy that the players love, but not much of a coach.

Cool!!! SKOOOOOOOOO mediocrity!!!!!!!!

I just wish all the old oregon crew was still here... guess we just have to be patient and wait for OD's reaction when he gets the strength to get out of the fetal position and log on.

woah, Oregon hired him?

Good recruiter, not so great coach.

But if you can get him 2 good coordinators who he can trust to carry the load while he's more CEO mode...that model can work.

You think he's not doing back flips? Took him a few minutes with Taggart, but he was all back to natty platter talk within a day of that hire.

Can't wait to see which way he's going on this. Best hire ever!!!!! Or what the hell!!!!! Either way should be good entertainment.

I'm just happy he's in Oregon instead of somewhere in the south recruiting against Alabama.

Good point. He'll be optimistic and stoked for now, probably.

The players like him, so it's cool.

No, seriously, it seems oregon has given up and is happy just going back to being the oregon anyone over the age of 30 knows and loves.

Thoughts @OregonDucks?
But dude... he was a co-coorinator! (Says the LSU fan whose idiot AD hired a Dline coach.)
