The Celtics have a lot of options going forward, given the draft capital they have.

What do you think the Celtics should do? What do you think the Celtics will do?

Bill Simmons was spitballing that they should trade Rozier and next year's Kings pick for the No. 6 or so pick in this draft. IMO, there is zero chance of that happening. Rozier has one year left on his deal and the Kings pick is more likely to be worse than No. 6.

To the finals next year given a healthy roster.

Well Irving only has a year left on his contract.

It will be interesting to see how Hayward plays post-injury.

There is talk that maybe the Celtics trade Irving.

The health of Kyrie is far from certain.

Also it seems unlikely that Smart will stay with the Celtics.

Sources told Sporting News that Boston has expressed interest in Bamba, including interviewing him at the Chicago pre-draft combine two weeks ago. Bamba measured in with a record wingspan of 7-10 in Chicago, reinforcing his status as the most ready-made rim protector in the draft. The Celtics have the No. 27 pick, but they have multiple assets on hand that could help them move into the top five of the draft, where the Grizzlies (No. 4) and Mavericks (No. 5) have made it clear they’re willing to make a deal.

Healthy Kyrie and Hayward are imperative. But with Rozier being really fantastic, it alleviates Kyrie from having to over-extend himself during the regular season. Smart may be gone, but having Gordon back, with Brown and Tatum give themselves really good roster flexibility.

But Bill Simmons said there is no way about Bomba would be effective for a championship contending team in today's NBA.

Kyrie can sign an extension this Summer.

If he does, he's damaged goods because he would lose a Shit ton of money by not waiting the extra year.

I don't think so. None of those picks are likely to be top 5 picks although they could be. Heck the Kings pick stays with Philly if it turns out to be the No. 1 and the Celtics wind up getting a likely late 1st then.

I don't see how any of those teams would be willing to give up a top 5 pick in a strong draft for a bunch of lottery tickets in the future.

Not sure that Rozier is a starting caliber PG for a winning team. He had a nice run in the playoffs but he had some pretty awful games as well, like game 7.

No way the Celtics offer Kyrie max money this offseason. Would Kyrie accept a significantly discount contract, say in the low 20s per year? I wouldn't think so.

If the Celtics were to draft him then Simmons would be saying he is the next Dikembe Mitumbo.

They'd have to give up a player.

But, which one?

Oh, I believe you.

They may not want HIM.

But, what would it take to move up that high is my question.

.....and is it even worth it?

Yeah, but again he doesn't need to be. He can play extended minutes during the regular season to take that burden off of Kyrie and the Celtics won't miss too much. But in the playoffs you'll need Kyrie at peak form. You can even play both together at times since Rozier is a good shooter and Kyrie can play off the ball a bit with his shooting. Just a lot of roster flexibility if played right, which I think Stevens will find a way to do.
