Yea completely agree, the Blues wilted under the WCF spotlight. I didn't think SJ was any match the way STL had been playing. That being said, much to my surprise the Sharks are in the hole now 0-2. I too hope the Pens wrap this up in 6.

Some parallels to the Kings - it took 25 seasons for the Kings to get to the SCF (1967-1993) and they got destroyed in it. It took 25 seasons for the Sharks to get to the SCF (1990-2016) and they too got destroyed in it.

A 6 game series may seem long but SJ was never really in it, much like LA was never really in the WCQFs this year - always a step behind, never really had the lead. They were playing catch up the entire series and you can't dictate play like that.

I was also waiting for that one team to remain disciplined and not give the SJ PP a chance and the Penguins managed to do that, the Sharks scored 18 of their 75 goals on the PP (24%). That is a huge number and if you're relying on it to win games, that's probably not the best strategy.

They played hard though, I have to give them credit but if they are truly following the Kings' path, no Cup until 2035 at the earliest.

=)~~
