Chevelle and a 67' Malibu? I haven't been able to find the answer. Same motor, same weight and same length. Yet, the Malibu is cheaper.

Thanks.

I have a '72 Malibu. It was just the grocery-getter trim package of the Chevelle with a 350 or less.

You pay for the name. Malibu were basically the "family" cars, bench seat, column shifter, straight 6 with a power glide, 3.08 open rear end.

Turning it into the chevelle, with a 396, 4 speed, posi rear end, bucket seats, floors shifter etc.

I have a 66 malibu, so I know what it came with, but thats all the expertise I can give you.

If you are buying a 66 malibu with anything other than a straight 6, glide and open rear end, its not original.

My father-in-law had a 1969 Beaumont, which was the Pontiac (GM) version of the Chevelle.

I truly wish I had it now. And even better it was a 4 door with the 350. While the 2 door models are the desired ones by most I think a 4 door would be close to unique.

I've got a 1995 SHO and a 1991 Super Coupe. I know which back seat I'd rather sit in or get in and out of.

That Beaumont could easily handle a 396 and today would be a real closet screamer.

Ha. The Beaumont was only sold in Canada. Was a Pontiac but had a Chevy 350 in it.
The real Pontiac version of the Malibu/Chevelle was the Tempest/T37/GT37/Lemans/GTO depending on year.

You should tell me something I did not know.

All that simply makes it even more rare.

It was actually first caaled a Chevelle Malibu. Much like a Chevelle SS.

Years later they dropped the Chevelle name and added Classic. '74 maybe?
