Heh, you make my point for me. Bornstein and Rollap seem to be the guys who actually DID the lion's share of the work, but it's the figurehead (Kraft, the commish, whomever) who get the credit.

So it goes.

I think it's hilarious that people think Goodell works for the fans.

He doesn't. But he could at least act like he has any kind of respect for them, or the players for that matter. I hope he gets fired and his house burns down tonight.

His only job is to act on behalf of the owners and he does it rather well (which is evidenced by the fact you want his house to burn down and not any of the owners' houses).

So he's a patsy.

Sorry, I don't respect patsies.

One day maybe they will get it......."Goodell is gonna get fired".....No he wont, he's generating more cash for the owners than any commissioner in any sport ever

This last round but this last round was easy. Before that when the NFL wasn't as popular as it is today it was Jerry Jones and Pat Bowlen that really pushed the tv deals to what they are today. They were the ones that really got the networks bidding against each other and eventually getting them all on board to now having Fox, CBS, NBC, and ESPN all paying the NFL to broadcast games. Now they are starting to add twitter and yahoo to the mix.

The only way the NFL and Goodell will EVER listen to the fans will be to hit them in their pocketbook.
may be in action...I sure don't think this is due to being a political year

'The NFL’s TV ratings dive continues to show no signs of letting up.

According to FOX Sports’ chief of research, the dip in regional ratings is nothing compared to a dramatic slump for prime-time games headlined by the staggering 24 percent fall-off for ESPN’s “Monday Night Football.”

Regional ratings for Fox’s NFC package have shown the smallest drop at just 1 percent through seven weeks compared to 2015, while regional ratings for CBS’ AFC package are down 9 percent, FOX Sports executive vice president of research Michael Mulvihill tweeted Tuesday.

Although the ratings for “Monday Night Football” have fallen off a cliff compared to last season, ratings for “Thursday Night Football” on CBS and the NFL Network and for NBC’s “Sunday Night Football” aren’t much better.

The Thursday package is down 18 percent, while the Sunday prime-time package is off 19 percent."

Not if the ratings keep dropping.

This weekend should make it easier for Goodell and the league to know whether it’s time to push the panic button on ratings. The 5-1 Cowboys — always a rating star — play host to the 4-2 Eagles in a traditional NFC East rivalry game Sunday night.

True, but they are low by NFL standards......a couple of weeks ago, a shitty Sunday night game, still outrated a MLB elimination playoff game
