My dad was a great teacher. Before starting that project I helped dad with rebuilding a '49 Chevy truck, '54 Chevy 2D Hardtop, 1st Series '55 Chevy 5 Window truck, '65 Chevy truck and a '68 Chevelle Malibu. That's always been a hobby and still today I rebuild vehicles. Right now I doing a '72 K5 Blazer, gen6 mpfi 454 and 4l80e (out of a 1999 GMC K2500 Suburban), np205, 2" body lift, 7" alcan springs lift on the front, 3" alcan spring lift on the rear with a shackle flip (combined it equals 7" lift) 1" zero rates front and rear, axles out of a cucv, 5.12 gears and 40" tires.

The ironic part about people saying theyll "never buy new" is its usually the same people who say " I drive em til the wheels fall off". If thats true you are much much better off buying new than used. Now if you trade every 3 or 4 years then used is the way to go... Anyway I bought a 2002 Mercury Mouintaneer Premier. Think it was like 30K.

I only buy new cars, I have never had a used car in my life. But then again I am the person that drives it until the wheels fall off.

My first car was a 1994 F-250 4x4 XLT, if my memory is correct it was low 20's. Thankfully my dad's construction company paid for this truck, if it didn't then I would not have been able to get my baby. A 1995 Firehawk Convertable for about 25ish.

I hate the new car smell...smells like carcinogenic chemicals to me. I'll buy my next car from a HS cheerleader so it smells like teen spirit.

OK..."Can't AFFORD new..."

I would love to be able to plunk down 25K for a new dealie and never have to make payments. That will probably never happen.

First Car(with payments)
1988½ Ford Escort Pony
30,000 miles

$1500
Dealer made a mistake and misadvertised it at that price rather than the $2500 it was supposed to be at, so we took it home for $1500. Drove that sucker into the ground delivering pizzas for 3+ years.
