A few things about it…

1. Seems like a practical move. The schools are within 2 hrs of each other and don't meet regularly due to being placed in different divisions. So, why not create a buzz for WF fans to play an old rival?

2. One of the consequences of expansion, schools don't get to regularly square off any longer. Look at the SEC… UGA and Bama sit right next to each other… and rarely play unless it's in the CCG.

3. I don't see how this will help either the school or the conference improve their RPI. Playing another school in your conference eliminates the opportunity to grab a win over another P5 conference. As the commish… I would be against such a move.

AHHH! Remember when teams in a conference played each other EVERY SEASON???
The good ole days indeed.

Smart move/dumb move (I side with dumb), who cares - it is more a commentary on
the sad state of college footbal today. The most idiotic, bullcrap, mind-boggling statement
in the article for me....?????

"The games will not count in the league (ACC conference)standings" WTF?

Two teams in the same conference are going to play each other, but it won't count as a conference game?
What's next? Schedule 2 teams from the same conference in a bowl game?
Oh wait - didn't the BCS (2012) already accomplish that?

Well it seems to me they have come to realize what everyone else already knows..the ACC SUCKS!..and the easiest way to get a win against a power 5 team is to go ahead and keep playing as many ACC games as you possibly can!....BRILLIANT!

Damn! I totally missed that strategy. Beef up your P5 ratings by playing teams
in your own conference but treat them as OOC.

Who would they rather play - Appy St or Wake? Wake wins!!
I mean, seriously - Appy St might beat you.

And they also get to keep their OOC payout $$$ in conference.
It is truly a win-win. When you are losers - gotta win any way u can.

I think it is a good move. This is a big rivalry game. The games will sell out or have good attendance and the teams get extra consideration by playing a P5 team.

Now 2 non P5 teams will have to find someone else to play.
