My preference for the last 30 years has been Titelist. Not too much into paying for them brand new has they have really gotten pricey over the last 5 years or so.

Go to golfballnut.com for the absolute best price on recycled balls.

I use Tommy Armours because I suck and I'm cheap.

Wait, that doesn't sound good...

Thanks for the hot tip on the website. I will see if they have the ball I've been hitting.

Early last year I decided that I would give the game of golf a little more attention than the usual 4 or 5 rounds a year I'd been giving it for the last 20 years. I was fortunate enough to have a friend who is an excellent golfer move into one of my apartments and we managed to get in at least a dozen 18 hole rounds as well as a 1/2 dozen 9 hole after work specials. Part of the decision to attempt to improve was to play the same ball all the time so I scored some Callaway HX Diablo tour balls @ $35 for 2 dozen.

For a number of years and at the beginning of last year I would expect to shoot in the high 90's to 102-3 on some of the difficult courses around here and that was the case the first few times out. By mid summer I was amazed at how much more comfortable I felt standing over the ball and how much cleaner I was hitting it.

By the end of the year I was hitting in the high 80's and low 90's and decided to set a goal for this year. I want to play 30 full rounds and 10 more after work specials, minimum. I really want to get my handicap down to 15 or lower. It's 20.4 right now.

My recommendation to any fellow duffers out there is to play often and play with guys who are better than you.

I have yet to find a brand that won't "fade right" into a hazzard. Looking for a "left weighted" ball to counter me slice, but still flys true.

I'm going to have a long wait me thinks.

Till then...I enjoy yelling "Fore" to anyone playing ahead of me.

Move the ball forward in your stance and maybe a few inches further away from you. It worked for me a few years ago and my fade is gone.

Now if I could only hit the long irons...........................:L

You haven't gone to hybrids either, like the rest of the free world?

I go to the range and can move balls left to right and right to left with any club.

Go out and play a round of golf and wheels come flying off the cart...EVERYTIME. Played the game for 40+ years now and have yet to figure out the space between the ears game that is played during a round of golf.

I use free.............My Dad when he went(passed away last October) he use to walk the tree lines, out of bounds line and walk around the water hazards for ball.Just for something todo while waiting.

He ended up picking app. 5000 golf balls.........

enough to last me a lifetime.

He even had them boxed into the make of the ball.

Damn he had a lot of time on his hands.

I play PROV1 when I get them as gifts, but when it comes to me buying them...not.

Been catching deals on Bridgestone lately...LY the B330rxs, this year the B330s.

I'm actually waiting for UPS before I leave the office today...ordered 3 dz Bridgestones B330s, $25 per dz new logo overruns...$44 per dz normally.

HAHAHA who knows. I'll tell you this. I played my last round 3 weeks ago. Was a bit nippy, but still relatively mild for this time of the year in the land of cheese. Split 2 of them in half in the same round. Never had that happened but I presume that some may have been waterlogged balls.

If you are someone that has a 6-7 handicap or lower, I would go with a 3 piece ball (like a Pro V). It has more spin and is a high performance ball. If you are above that or your swing speed is that of a non-pro, all you need is a 2 piece ball (like a titleist NXT, DT or similar).

Every ball you buy at the store will tell you it's a 2 or 3 piece ball.

I play 3 piece balls mostly, unless it's cold or the greens are not fast then sometimes I play the Titleist NXT Tour

And I will add I have not bought balls for sometime. I have about 7-8 dozen Pro V1's in the closet.

I learned how to play golf from my grandpa when I was about 4-5 years old. He love to look for balls while we played. If no one was around, sometimes we'd walk into creek areas or the woods and come out with dozens.

I had more fun then looking for balls than I did playing at 5/6 years old.

Titleist Pro-v1 generally, but I also like the new Bridgestone and Taylormade balls too.
