Just getting to posting about the Davis Cup Finals.
The first match was Cilic vs. Delbonis.
Cilic had a 2-0 sets lead, but it went to a 5th set.
This was the 3rd 5-setter Cilic has played in, all of them when he had a 2-0 sets lead. The first was the Wimbledon match vs. FED, which he lost.
The second was the Davis Cup QF match vs. Jack Sock, which he also lost.
Cilic ended up winning in 5 for the 1-0 Croatia lead. I was rooting for Crotia, partly for Cilic, and partly because Karlovic was old but playing well, and this might be the best chance he has.
The second match was Karlovic vs. Del Potro.
Karlovic won in a 2nd set tiebreaker but lost in 4.
Cilic and Dodig won in straight sets vs. Del Potro/Leonardo Mayer The first two sets went to tiebreakers.
So Croatia had the 2-1 lead.
Next match, Cilic vs. Del Potro.
Cilic won the first two sets. Del Potro won the next 2, to force the 5th set. Del Potro won the 5th set. Cilic was outplaying Del Potro and finishing points at the net, in the first two sets.
Man, so many tough 5 set losses for Cilic this year.
Last match was Karlovic vs. Delbonis. Karlovic couldn't stay in the match and Delbonis won in straight sets.
So Argentina came back from 2-1 down to win their first Davis Cup.
Lots of good drama with the matches and the Argentina come back.
