Maybe we’ve all learned from the mistakes of Banner/Reid. The Reid years were nice. We were almost always competitive but they lacked something.
A real quarterback. We know. We knew then too.

That bitch couldn't do in 5 tries what Foles did in just one.

he was very solid. Why do you think we won't bring him back??

And why do people keep thinking that our CB's that are not good enough to be starters will turn into a Safety? That gets talked about all the time, but how often has it actually been done???

We can't afford Robinson for what he may potentially get in FA, I'd be surprised if he comes back not because we don't want him, but because we may not be able to afford him.

Our corners did very well last year, but if Sid Jones is as good as everyone says he is, he will taking one of those outside spots. Mills has previous experience playing Safety in college at a high level, no reason to think he can't do it in the pros if we're thinking beyond this coming season - he has the skill-set to play well there.

To answer your 2nd question:

- Nick Collins (pro bowl safety after playing corner in college)
- Antrell Rolle (see above)
- Malcolm Jenkins (see above)
- Rod Woodson
- Charles Woodson

Those are just a few off the top of my head - Douglas has the skill-set as well that I think it would be worth it just to give him a few reps there to see if he can do it, ya never know you might uncover a gem.

The speculation is that Robinson will cost too much money to bring back. As far as the CB to S thing, I think people assume it’s too easy of a transition. That being said, Mills was a starter last year so I’m not sure it’s fair to say he’s not good enough to be a starter. On top of that, Jenkins himself made the transition. Not every CB can do it. But some can

Jordan Poyer up in buffalo now did it as well

I think Douglas may be too big to be a dynamite Nickle. I think he converts to Safety.

I meant Douglas would make a good projection at Safety, not Nickel. If Mills cannot play the slot, or Schwartz doesn't want him there, he could be an in-house candidate at Safety beyond this coming season.

I'm not talking about playing CB in college... then S in the pro's.

I'm talking playing CB in the pro's THEN transitioning to S later.

It just seems talked about all the time, but rarely ever happens.

I think Mills holds the inside job at the starting CB spot, and Jones will have to show enough to overtake him. IF that happens, I see Mills being nickel CB.

I think it will be a battle on outside between Mills and Jones though I think that is where Jones stays regardless. If Jones wins outside spot I think Mills tries inside. Will be interesting to see how it plays out. Of course there is still the rumor floating that a DB is being traded too........

The point I was trying to make is that guys like Mills who don't have great speed to play outside exclusively but they're smart and tough can play Safety in the NFL. He was drafted as a hybrid because he already had that experience coming into the league, and if you watch him play, you can see he has that skill-set.

With the pass game becoming what it is in the NFL these days, teams are coveting guys who have interchangeable skills. Even Worley who they just acquired played some Safety in Carolina's scheme last year - in a lot of cases the DB positions are not as black and white as they used to be, more guys are being coveted that have corner skills but the toughness and tackling ability to play high and/or box safety in certain situations. You need Safeties with Corner skills these days, that's why I think Mills would be a stud safety if given the opportunity. To a lesser extent Douglas has the same type of makeup and ability.

Beau Allen and Trey Burton posted goodbye messages to Philly on their instagrams. That's that.

The thing about signing possible headcases is that I think the Eagles have great player leaders in Jenkins, Long (if he is still with the Eagles next year), and Peters (ditto)

Those 3 players have earned the utmost respect from not only Eagles players but also from players across the league

I'm pretty sure those 3 players (again if they are all there next year) should be able to keep anyone in check

Nelson just provides depth and ST specialist. I still have hope to resign Bradham, but he might be difficult to do. LBer is still the top priority in the draft, barring a stud free agent signing, plus they could still trade Kendricks.
