Cocksuckers are so afraid of Oklahoma they have to play on scrub night against a scrub team so they can have 10 days to straighten out their shit.

The FBS schools playing on the 26th is smart. With the exception of BYU, every one
of them is in a league with a conf title game. By allowing a game on the 26th, they have
just been given an extra open date. Plus, they still are allowed to get in their 29 practices
before the first game.

I noticed a few weeks ago, that this year, for the first time since the NCAA went to the 14
and sometimes 15 week season...Every FBS school opens the first week. There was always
a few that wouldn't open on week #1 and they would cost themselves a week of practice.

You get 29 days of practice before "your" first game, not the first week when the season
is allowed to begin. Thus, by not playing on the opening weekend, the opening weekend
becomes your open date, but you lose the days of that week because those days are
included in the 29 practice allotment before game 1.

(It's Saturday the 26th.)

Yes, Saturday, nice catch. Got the first Thursday and first Saturday mixed up there.

Hey now, slow the roll. We get a damn good paycheck out of the dirt burglers.

This is true. OSU does the same. I think we're playing Army this year and also UNLV. We also have to pay the bills and allow the 5th string rb to have a go.

Surprised that Penn St and Akron are on Pickems. Vegas has Penn St as a 30 point favorite.

Also BYU still plays 13 games because they play Hawai'i on the road

BYU definitely takes advantage of that benefit since they get a nice tune-up prior to facing LSU, Utah and Wisconsin 3 weeks in a row

You make a good point and also subtle point.

The only other school to take advantage of being able to play a 13th game, if they play at
Hawaii is San Jose State, and they play on the 26th also.

Even Hawaii doesn't play the 13th game this year.

Not much of a benefit (perk) for teams when the realization of the perk of an extra game
becomes a punishment (No open date).

I think this exception will be beneficial to Hawai'i, there's more incentive to play them on the road if you can play 13 games, to still have that additional home game and two bye weeks

IF...you get to play the extra week up front.

If not and you're in a league with a title game. You'll play 13 straight weeks
without an open date.
