Was the committee under the influence?

Of drugs and or alcohol when selecting BYU?

God this team fucking sucks. I said on selection Sunday how asanine this team even got in let alone a damn 10 seed meaning clear away from play in.

I just cannot see how this double digit losses west coast conference team got in over SMU or hell even the gophers.

I'm thinking it was opiates. But could be a combination of many things.

To be fair... they were without their best player who tore his ACL the other day vs Gonzaga. Collinsworth is a stud.

Isn't haws their best player?

Didn't know they were without him but zags also killed them
And only got an 8(deserved)

I'm just mind boggled a team with double digit losses from the WCC got a clear 10.

Oregon was just licking their chops.

They also have wins over no. 7 seed Texas, no. 8 seed Gonzaga and fellow 10 seed Stanford.

Lost to Iowa State by 2 and played Wichita State and UMass closely. Also lost to Oregon by 4 in OT in Eugene. They aren't world beaters obviously but I think they are about what a 10 seed should look like resume-wise.

Haws is their leading scorer but not best all around player. Collinsworth is a two-way player and fills up the stat sheet.

14.0 ppg, 8.1 rpg, 4.8 apg and 1.7 spg.

But for example you got the big10 gophers(keep in mind my avatar is gopher hockey related, not bitter they didn't make it) who beat Wisconsin, OSU and iowa(I know they tanked) and had a great SOS.

Close losses shouldn't mean shit but gophers had them too. They also were 4-3 in big10 before Hollins got hurt during the Wisco win with Nebraska, NU and Purdue coming up. Lost all 3 without him.

SMU even better case. Just not seeing BYu being in especially as a damn 10.

The committee made it perfectly clear that they like to see aggressive OOC scheduling.

If SMU wants to play an exceedingly embarrassing OOC schedule, well they better not trip up down the stretch in conference.

BYU played some solid OOC games like the committee has made it clear for the last 7-8 years.

And they took the exact same OREGON team to overtime with the full roster.

Losing Collingsworth hurt them a bit in the rematch....
Guards are so important in the NCAA.

I picked Oregon on all my brackets (3) except one, SportsHoopla. I must have been on the same thing the committee was on, don't know why I picked em. I knew that dude was out, and when they played Texas early in the year, at the end of the game I had a hard time figuring out exactly how they won. Was an ugly game...
