I am looking at replacing my IPad Air 2 with a Vaio Z Canvas - but I can only view it online and have not had a chance to look at any sort of demo version in any local store. Has anyone here used one - and what did they think about it?

Not familiar with it, but looking at it on line sounds enticing.

Except for the price.

The price is a little steep, but an IPad Pro with a keyboard case and apple pen would come out pretty close to the same price. There are pluses and minuses to both, and I'm really torn. I know what an IPad can do and have demoed the Pro several times, but I haven't been able to do the same with the Vaio.

I guess they are trying to compete with the Surface Pro's price point? The specs are nice but that price tag is a doozy.

Lots of stuff on youtube.

But, I'm not an early adoptor.

I'd check out customer reviews on Amazon, CNET reviews, etc. wait 6 months for the price to fall and make sure I got it from a vendor with a good return policy.

The price won't drop that much in six months and by that point it's pretty much obsolete. They'll already be advertising the newer one around that time.

The newer ones will have worked out the problems of the first issue, which is my problem with early adoption in general.

But, go for it. Use a Visa card that doubles the warranty period.

I'm in total agreement about not being essentially a beta tester. Although, considering how quickly technology is updated I would say shit or get off the pot now.
