Given where the program is, Buzz is going to have to do what Buzz has to do in order for the team to see daylight in the ACC.

It's a bummer that something couldn't have been worked out where he could come back. If he was on the team and with a healthy Bibbs, I feel like we could win a couple of games that would validate all the hard work and effort the guys are putting forth right now. But on the bright side, at least he's going to graduate and is free to go elsewhere or pros overseas (which I think is what he'll do) and we get an open scholarship for a longer term player. So it sucks that it happened and I'm still disappointed that Joey was in this to begin with, but in a odd twist, it sort of ends up being better for both parties.

I wish JVZ well, and he will be a Virginia Tech grad. I don't know exactly what happened, but I'm guessing it was unacceptable to Buzz.

VT needs some big men for next year. Preferably ones who can make free throws.

Now that JVZ is gone, I would expect even more attrition in order to bring in some additional size. Based on playing time, I figure Mueller won't be around next year. And I'd imagine Adam Smith will probably graduate in the spring too, correct? I would be surprised if one or two of our current guards didn't exit after the season.

Will Zach LeDay be a junior or senior when he becomes eligible next year?

I think Leday will have 2 years of eligibility left. We've got Blackshear coming in so that's some size. And Buzz is still recruiting for 2015 signings, including 6-10 300 pound Levi Cook. Cook was a 3 star WVU commit that reopened his commitment and most seem to think he's a VT lean right now. Considering we actually have a scholly open for him now, I'd be very surprised if we didn't land him.

Speaking of Cook, I can't see a guy that overweight / un-athletic fitting Buzz's scheme. Although maybe he's got some speed hidden under that flab that a Buzz Boot Camp would reveal?

Funny how the day after I made this post 3 weeks ago, Mueller has had increased minutes and has become a key player for us. I wonder why he wasn't receiving much playing time in Dec/Jan?

Mueller moved to the 4 spot and has actually played great there on defense for us. On offense, he is matched up with their 4 and has had a clear quickness and speed advantage allowing him to get to the rim. The 4s also tend not to guard all the way out at the 3 point line or chase him around the court as well and he has gotten a lot of open 3s. He has been used out of necessity but it has created some mismatches for us that Buzz has been exploiting.
