Seahawks absolutely destroy the Colts (admitably after a slow start)........and how does the USA Today Power Rankings reflect this??

Seattle drops 4 places, while Indy moves up 2 spots!

WTF?!?

I know that power rankings in general are pretty lame and I don't usually pay much attention but this might be THE MOST grievous crock of shit I have ever seen. Surely at least top 3 or 4 I have ever seen at least.

Yeah, that seems pretty messed up, but like you say the significance is fairly minimal, especially this early in the season when 1 game can have a bit too much impact as compared to Nov/Dec. I think Elliott Harrison's rankings have us at 14, up from 17 last week.

Are the Seahawks worthy of #6?

I think not.

agreed

To many people think this Hawks team is a 12-4 team still. They might finish at 12-4 but with what we have seen in the first four games 8-8 looks more likely right now.

To early in the season to get butt hurt over stupid power rankings.

No, but did you miss the part where the Colts moved up 2 spots after being spanked in a mere 2 quarters of a game?

Bottom line is power rankings are a complete crap shoot and worthless, other than the endless circle jerk people get to participate in on the internet.

Let's think about what a power ranking is for a second........

It's the opinion of a handful of jerkoffs that aren't any more qualified than anyone on this board. They see what we see and make a ranking based off of the same information, it's meaningless.

College is different in that their rankings actually effect opportunity, but in the NFL it's nothing more than a conversation starter.

That being said, the Colts are #1 in my power rankings. Way to go Hawks!

WTF are you talking about? The Seahawks are nowhere near #6.

To recap: The Seahawks beat the holy heck out of the Colts. The Seahawks drop from #11 to #15. The Colts go up 2 spots after losing by 28 points!

Thanks for implying I am "butthurt". To clarify, I don't give a shit about Power Rankings. There are dozens and dozens of them out there and they don't mean anything. I was just baffled by whatever "logic" went into these particular rankings that would cause such idiotic results based on the outcome of the Seahawks-Colts game. Nothing more or less than that.

The Hawks usually struggle in September but start to gear up in October. By December they are typically running on all cylinders. I'm perfectly fine with commentators writing the Hawks off because that becomes a rallying cry for the team, which is about the only tangible thing that comes from these rankings.

I used to love reading power rankings until I realized how nitpicky and arbitrary they are. Occasionally, the comments under each ranking could be pretty funny, but that's all they're good for.

lol i wasn't implying that really, it was just a statement as to not let it bother you because it's obviously a ignorant move by someone that doesn't know shit really about football lol. :)

I would point and laugh at that Power ranking before i ever did anything else IF i even did anything else. Something like that isn't worth my or your time really now is it? lol

Pro football rankings are fun to read but don't take them seriously. They do nothing on who gets into the playoffs.
