The 12-member 2014 USA Basketball Men’s U18 National Team was announced Sunday morning and features seven players boasting of prior USA Basketball experience, including Stanley Johnson (Mater Dei H.S./Fullerton, Calif.), Tyus Jones (Apple Valley H.S./Apple Valley, Minn.) and Justise Winslow (St. John’s School/Houston, Texas), who each have won two gold medals playing internationally for USA Basketball.

Also included on the official USA U18 roster are: Isaiah Briscoe (Roselle Catholic H.S./Union, N.J.); Jaylen Brown (Wheeler H.S./Alpharetta, Ga.); Jalen Brunson (Adlai E. Stevenson H.S./Lincolnshire, Ill.); Luke Kennard (Franklin H.S./Franklin, Ohio); Tyler Lydon (New Hampton School/Elizaville, N.Y.); Dwayne Morgan (St. Francis Academy/Baltimore, Md.); Allonzo Trier (Montrose Christian/Seattle, Wash.); Myles Turner (Trinity H.S./Bedford, Texas); and Stephen Zimmerman (Bishop Gorman H.S./Las Vegas, Nev.).

Tyler Lydon (SU Commit) didn't get an invite first time through. He was asked to tryout after three invited players withdrew for what USA Basketball termed "personal reasons."

The guy almost doesn't get an invite but makes the team. Phewwwwww. Got in there just in time.

Thanks jonvi. Team USA plays in the prelims against Uruguay Friday, Mexico Saturday, and Argentina Sunday. Three Blue Devils on the roster. Maybe a fourth if Chase Jeter decides to come to Durham. Also saw that Danny Manning, Wake Forest's new coach, is an assistant coach on the staff.

Duke recruit Luke Kennard nets 30 points in win over Uruguay on 7-12 from 3 point range tying a record for 3-point attempts. Looking good.

Team USA 18U wins again! Defeats Mexico 100-46 in another dominant showing. Stanley Johnson(Arizona) led the scoring with 18 points. Alonzo Trier had 14 points along with Justise Winslow(Duke) with 14 points, 4 assists and 4 steals.
