Penn St. got hosed.
What would be a better way?
Same thing the SEC needs to do.
Get rid of divisons completely, they are unbalanced and they do not lead to the 2 best teams playing for the conference.
Designate 2 or 3 permament rivalry games that get played every year. Ohio St vs Michigan every year, etc. The games that matter most, you keep them.
Rotate the rest of the conference games.
Take the 2 best teams at the end of the year and put them in the championship game. And if a rematch is needed, then it's better than taking some team that doesn't deserve it and putting them in there.
Even on an 8 game conference schedule, you'll never go more than like 2 years without playing any team in the conference.
But the difference is ....
LSU didn't get left out in favor of Alabama. They both went to the title game.
Easy enuf to say now, but looking at it that way, PSU didn't belong either. They got beat by a 3 loss team in their bowl gameMaybe the Nittany Lions should have been in the playoffs instead of Ohio St. After the waxing that Clemson handed them, it seems that the Buckeyes didn't belong there.
No they didn't. It's going to take some strange set of circumstances before a 2 loss team will make the CFP.Penn St. got hosed.
They won their conference including the head to head vs Ohio St. They got fvcking hosed. No they didn't. It's going to take some strange set of circumstances before a 2 loss team will make the CFP.
That didn't mean shit. They had 2 losses and the CFP comm. wasn't going to put them in over a 1 loss team. If that's what you want, conf. champs., then a 13-0 Western Michigan would be in. Tell PSU to not lose 2 fucking games this seasonThey won their conference including the head to head vs Ohio St. They got fvcking hosed.

Penn St. got beat twicePenn St. defeated Ohio St.
Penn St. won the B1G East.
Penn St. won the B1G championship game.
Tell Urban he's a fvcking idiot for him thinking Penn St. should have went instead of Ohio St. Tell him winning the head to head, the division and the conference doesn't mean jack fvcking shit. Tell him.Penn St. got beat twice
Penn St. didn't make the CFP

PSU won the H2H with OSU,finished with the same win total and won the conference championship. And lets not forget.1 of those 2 losses was to Pitt in a rivalry game.Pitt also beat that Clemson team that waxed OSU last season. They won their conference including the head to head vs Ohio St. They got fvcking hosed.
But what does Urban know compared to a couple of cornbread munching sweet tea swilling SEC posters on here.PSU won the H2H with OSU,finished with the same win total and won the conference championship. And lets not forget.1 of those 2 losses was to Pitt in a rivalry game.Pitt also beat that Clemson team that waxed OSU last season.
PSU definitely got hosed I'll take the results on the field.Over opinion any day
There's Ohio State fans that have stated they didn't belong there. Which is very respectable imo. The one good thing that came out of this. Is it did show the system still needs work. And possibilities are being discussed. In the end there's really no good reason a conference champion shouldn't be in the play offs over a non champion with a head to head win. Or good reason not to expand the play offs and establish a solid selection system based on actual merit. But what does Urban know compared to a couple of cornbread munching sweet tea swilling SEC posters on here.

Reality would be easy to see the best teams were not in the play offs. The fact is there are no reasons against play off expansion and change. That haven't been easily debunked. Aside from maybe fear of competition imoExcept the fact the stated goal is to put in the 4 best teams. People like you just can't deal with the reality.

Did Michigan State start playing in Pennsylvania?Michigan State and Penn State are two different teams. Also two different seasons. You're back to basing the system on speculation and opinion.Still doesn't change the fact that Penn State beat Ohio State on the field and won the conference. And still no valid reasons against play off expansion........Because Michigan St did so much better the year before.
