1. It's hard to truly compare players that played in different eras. For example, I think it's hard to compare Brett Favre to Aaron Rodgers and say Rodgers is clearly better due to his stats when Favre played half of his career in the pre-pass happy offense oriented NFL days. Rodgers has had the luxury of playing his entire career in a pass-friendly league, especially considering how he didn't start until 2008. They're both all-time greats and it's impossible to rank most of the elite talents of the league on an objective scale.

2. Various football leagues, starting at the top with the NFL, do in fact have a responsibility to find ways to make the game safer. However, they generally go about it the wrong way.

i don't enjoy watching games in which an absurd amt of snow is covering the field a la last year's colts-bills game. i'm sorry, but it just causes the quality of the game itself to drop.

Oh, and I liked tampa's old orange/white uniforms.

The replacement refs weren't really that worse than the real refs.

They struggled a bit with timing rules and other things that differed from the leagues they used to officiate in, but overall they didn't blow any more big calls than the normal guys do. The NFL announcers, ESPN, etc. just made a huge deal about every tiny thing the replacement guys did wrong.

The Fail Mary was a big deal because it occurred at the end of a game on MNF. That was the worst thing they did in three weeks. The normal refs blow worse calls than that on a regular basis.

I don't care much about team rivalries beyond the regular season when division titles/playoff spots are on the line. Green Bay, Chicago or Detroit winning doesn't bother me any more than some random AFC teams beyond the implications them winning has on the Vikings. I just can't get into the tribalism of sports to that hardcore of an extent.

I feel like you need to take out about 8 teams from the league for me to really care about the Super Bowl as something other than a gambling event.

All teams lack depth.

I think the ground should be able to cause a fumble.

I love when guys are running with the ball and someone grabs them by their dreads

women broadcasters and sideline reporters have no place and only serves to the NFL greed to capture a larger percentage of women viewers
