What if only games outside your own division counts? Here's the standings:
Eastern Conference

1 Pittsburgh 29 23 6 0 46
2 Montreal 30 20 8 2 42

5 Ottawa 29 18 8 3 39
6 NY Islanders 30 17 8 5 39
7 Toronto 30 16 11 3 35
8 NY Rangers 30 16 12 2 34

9 Philadelphia 29 16 12 1 33
10 Winnipeg 30 14 13 3 31
11 Buffalo 30 12 14 4 28
12 New Jersey 30 9 13 8 26
13 Washington 29 11 15 3 25
14 Florida 30 9 19 2 20
15 Tampa Bay 30 9 20 1 19
Western Conference *
---------------------
Position Team GP W L OTL PTS
1 Anaheim 30 22 5 3 47
2 Chicago 29 19 6 4 42
3 Vancouver 30 15 9 6 36
4 Los Angeles 30 18 9 3 39
5 St. Louis 30 18 10 2 38
6 San Jose 30 16 9 5 37
7 Detroit 29 17 10 2 36
8 Columbus 30 15 11 4 34
------------------------------------
9 Nashville 30 13 12 5 31
10 Phoenix 29 12 11 6 30
11 Minnesota 30 14 14 2 30
12 Colorado 29 10 12 7 27
13 Dallas 29 12 15 2 26
14 Calgary 29 12 16 1 25
15 Edmonton 30 9 15 6 24
* Calgary - Chicago (1-3, 3rd) and Colorado - Phoenix (3-2, 1st) weren't finished yet when I collected the stats..
The biggest changes would be that Washington would be one of the worst five teams in the league, and Carolina get the 3rd spot in the East. And that Columbus would already have their playoff spot secure. Also, Anaheim would be in the lead for the President's trophy.
