I had to bookmark the IIHF page for news of the world championship. Still not used to having no Canucks games this time of year

That said, Pheonix/LA in the WCF! Gees, I would rather have seen Nashville/St. Louis. If you look at the 4 western semi-finalists, the general theme is out-work and wear down your opponent (trapping might be a stretch) and a Goalie standing on his freaking head. The puck posession teams were all gone in round 1.
As for the east, NYR/WAS vs. NJ?? Not very inspring teams either. If Washington beats the New York Rangers tonight, it will be a bunch of also-rans in the Semis let alone the Finals.
Great for the large LA and NY markets but not very inspiring stuff.
