Marvin has frequently found at least one guy to make the team. Who do you guys got?

I'll go with one of the linebackers given Burfict's suspension and their need on ST. I'll go with Worley.

Jordan Franks. Looks like Marv was snoozing through the draft and forgot to take a TE. He needs it.

I look for Q. FLowers to end up on the PS. If he can transition to a RB/WR and return guy, the kid is electric. Watched him a ton following UC and the kid just makes plays with his feet. I know they say he's more of a RB at the NFL level, but I think you could see him in at a slot-WR position with return ability.

As for making the team, I'll go with a LB.

I am going to say that no college free agent makes the 53 man squad this year. I think a few make the practice squad, but that is about it. We are pretty dang deep as far as players in most areas due to draft and vets that none actually make it this year.

This raises an interesting question. In 2015 we had a SNF road game against Arizona. Before the game, each of the commentators on Football Night In America basically endorsed the notion the Bengals had one of the most talented roster in the league. Special emphasis was given to our depth.... Obviously this team included guys like Whitworth, Zeitler, Marvin Jones, Mo Sanu, and Reggie Nelson so times have changed a bit.

But, I'm wondering... Where does our roster fall in terms of overall depth/talent when compared to the rest of the league? Middle of the road? Above average? My hunch is that we have above average talent and are limited by our head coach and qb not delivering in big games.

I personally would assume that we are middle of the road both on talent and coaching. I don't think Marvin is a great coach, I don't think he is terrible either. Depth wise, I think we have a lot of depth as far as players on the depth chart, but I would say the level of talent is lacking a little bit too once you start getting deeper in.

Overall, minus our OL, I think we have solid starters in this league making us better than our record has shown the last two years. Overall, I am not as confident in our depth talent, but still decent.

We dropped off considerably at backup QB. Our OL is still weak in starters, so depth can only mean it is not great either. At least as that sits right now.

I like our WR core for the most part, love our RB's, TE's are pretty good, DL is getting a little longer in the tooth, but I think Willis and Lawson really help that pass rush. LB core is real deep in my opinion, I know a lot disagree with that, but I like it. Secondary is actually pretty dang good I think. Special teams coverage, *ehh*, okay. Specialists not bad.

I think some of the coaches hold us back, and while I think Marvin is part of that, I am sure Mike Brown has a big hand to play in that with his loyalty to employees. I think the coaching mix up will help us out a lot. More aggressive, in your face type coaches that I think will actually play to our players strengths versus their weaknesses (Austin and Pollack). I like what Lazor has done in the offseason from what I have heard anyways.
