we got that extra 4th in that trade of Bibbs. Just trade that to them and call it good

Wouldn't mind that at all. Surefire starter day 1 that fixes maybe the biggest hole still on the team for a 4th round pick that most likely would be more of a depth player next year.

Yeah. What vets are out there that would upgrade what Denver has now. Not saying it's great but if Elway was going to make move on vet without over-paying and who was a decent upgrade, he would have already. Peko and current roster plus draft, is as good as it's going to get for 2017 imo
Jamal Charles signed and don't think that will be last addition.

Elway can redeem himself by getting Richardson. It would make us an immediate contender, I would give up a 4th for that

Conditioning is a big concern I have for a guy that big, but even if he slims down 10-15 pounds he's still gonna be a huge meat eater clogging up the middle.

Pot roast was in the same boat, and played a lot of downs for us. I don't think if he's a rotational guy it'll be too rough on him, especially with Peko.

What about the ILB for Eagles that was on the block for a 4th? Rental for sure, but still...

So in retrospect, do we sign Malik to a similar deal he got from Jags and ditch Wolfe, or do we keep the status quo?

That's a tough call, I think overall Malik was a bigger presence but Wolfe gave a hell of a discount right?

In retrospect we should've extended Malik earlier

I guess I'm just ignorant when comparing Malik and Wolfe but didn't they play mostly outside and in ? Malik more NT and Wolfe more Dt/ rush/ outside contain where Malik was more straight on bull rush up middle/pressure in qb face/ middle run containment ?. To me anyway, they played mostly different roles so I don't see similarity like you guys are talking. Sly and Malik are closer comparisons except Sly rarely put good pressure up middle for pass rush than Malik did. Color me stupid but Denver hasn't had the combo Malik provided since well before he got going and obviously since then. Walker to me was is better comparison for that type of need with Malik. What do I know though. I'm old and slow. :)

Never got the love affair with Malik, sure he was good......the once every 5 games he decided to show up and do something. I've always given him credit for showing up in the playoffs but a good 3 game stretch shouldn't overshadow the other 80% of the year where he was barely even noticeable.

For the majority of his career(and yes this includes this year in Jacksonville) he's performed exactly like a 5th round pick

It's no coincidence our rush D took a shit once Trev and him left. Malik is great at setting the edge. But in the same token he definitely benefitted from Von garnering so much attention

Ironically enough, going back and looking at the scouting reports on Malik and Walker, they're pretty similar. Need to add strength, etc. Malik was always good off the snap, and Carl has stated that is one of Walkers weaknesses so hopefully he can fix that with the coaching of Kollar. All I know is Richardson will solve ALL of our defensive woes and Elway should make that happen pronto. That will make us a bonafide Super Bowl D. I would also give Clady a look see and sign him cheaply if possible

OC I think that is what we were looking for when we drafted Davis

His snap anticipation is all over the board. When he fires off the ball the man does some damage. The problem is it just isn't consistent. This is where Von could be a huge help as that is one of his best strengths.

Mostly I see 2 main issues with Walker

1) Gets washed out of plays way too easily. We thought Crick was bad this past year of holding the edge well Walker would be worse if he had to start day 1.

2) He just doesn't have a plan presnap of what he wants to do. He does this weird diagnose the play first then make a decision of what he wants to do. Well by that point the OL has already gotten into position making it near impossible to win.

I think he will contribute some this year. Wouldn't shock me if he is like Wolfe his rookie year and gets soemthign like 5 sacks as teams pay attention to everybody else but him. Just not sure I see a star player coming out of this pick and for a premium pick that is not what I want to think.
