I also like Miller's Crossing a lot. Blood Simple is another Coen Brothers movie that I think is probably underrated.

One the best movies I've seen in the past couple of years is The Claim. Since I had never heard of it when I caught it on TV, I assume that it is also underrated.

Just watched the trailer for it on YouTube.

How in the hell did I miss that movie when it came out. I have never heard of it.

I only saw 1 trailer for it when it was in theaters but it wasn't advertised very much. It is the definition of an underrated movie IMO.

Joy Ride- Paul Walker and Steve Zahn. Really good movie

The Strangers- Might not be as underrated but it's, IMO one of the best horror movies of the 2000's

I liked Joyride a lot! I still sometimes call my wife on my way home from work and once she answers...."Candycaayyne!" It always creeps her out. lol Buffalo Bills voice is just creepy!

Top Secret Val Kilmer's first film a spoof of the Elvis and Spy films

Thunderheart Val Kilmer as a half indian FBI agent investigating a murder on an Indian reservation.

Love Stinks Cheap romantic comedy that takes about 30 minutes to set up, but then had my wife and me in tears for the rest.

Maximum Overdrive - AC/DC soundtrack, Emilio Estevez, Lisa Simpson's voice in person, bad action thriller there is nothing better.

Best in Show - Fred Willard has some great lines in this one and the cast is great.

Goon - Great hockey movie written by Jay Baruchel and Evan Golberg.

Long Gone - This one is hard to find but still one of the best baseball movies.

I'll go with a common theme here:

Vanilla Sky, Oblivion, Jack Reacher.

None of these movies got much acclaim, mostly due to the fact that Tom Cruise starred in all three. For whatever reason, people seem to dislike Tom Cruise as an actor when a majority of the films I've seen him in this past decade have either been above average or very good.

Jack Reacher: Really entertaining movie. I never read the books, so perhaps that is where a lot of the criticism comes from. This movie underperformed at the box office, but I liked it a lot.

Oblivion: 50% of critics gave it a positive review according to Rotten Tomatoes. I really enjoyed this movie due to the visuals, acting and I thought it had an interesting story as well. The dialog was lacking I suppose, but I thought it was a really interesting plot with good acting and terrific visuals.

Vanilla Sky: Best of the three IMO. Watched this movie and thought it was incredibly unique. After I had watched it, I read some reviews expecting a lot of praise for the movie, but didn't find much. There were a lot of twists and turns in this movie and really is unlike anything else I've ever seen. Perhaps it could be considered a tad slow, or strange to some, but I really liked it a lot. There were some really scathing reviews of the movie, so I suppose I'm in a sizeable minority here.
