Maryland filed a 157 million dollar suit against the ACC today claiming that Pittsburgh and Wake Forest tried to recruit a unnamed team from the Big 10.

Nothing will be settled until the suit in NC is complete.

I wondered at the time of the 2003 raid of the BE, when the BC president said they were doing what ESPN told them to do in moving to the ACC, why nothing more was done. What B11 team would the ACC go after? PSU is the only one that makes any sense to me.

That's who initially came to mind for me too but I suppose it could have been Rutgers for the TV market. Maybe the ACC has plans for an ACC network.

I thought they had football this year too. I could have sworn I saw something about the ACC on ESPN. Yet I can't find anything...

So I guess the Big 10 has told ESPN that any attempt to devalue the league would end in lawsuit...if ESPN trys to protect the ACC they will use information provided by UMD to go after them.

wow this thing could get very ugly. I am not insider just relaying what some are saying.

All this network and conference affiliation is getting messy. It's going to come to a point where college football will schism into the FOX League and the ESPN League, along with maybe the CBS or NBC League...

I am really hoping that Fox makes a huge push over the next couple of years, ESPN run has gone on to long and lets face it they really only care about the leagues they support....gameday anymore might as well be the SEC preview show.

Exactly my point. They're pushing their own interests. ESPN == Fox News
