Florida is an interesting bunch. Lots of skilled kids, lot of good athletes. I think this is a year when everyone knocks the SEC and they end up with 3 sweet 16, 2 elite 8 and the National Champion

LOL; same thing last year...all we heard was how bad the SEC played and all that happened was 3 in the final 16 and 2 in the final 4....anyone else do that??? The SEC basketball is the "Rodney Dangerfield" of the country.

Hate spilling over from SEC football dominance...

lol....you fucks play hs teams all year round and then try to compare conferences.

In bball, UK better stay in the SEC. A year of ACC or Big East play would set you two straight.

On a side note, prayers need to go out to Louisville's Chris Jones, who apparently had his jaw broken by the wind created by a DJ elbow that only missed him by a foot or so.

Seriously, that flop, and the one by Harrell on the loose ball WCS flushed, were Duke worthy. Love the fact that Ulis took the elbow that gave him 3 stitches, got it taped up, and went back to work. Tyler is a straight up baller

which btw....I agree Florida is turning a corner. UK in Florida will be a bit of a test. Lock up the base line on D and let the 3's rain on offense. Could work at home.

That's just two games. Try an entire season of UofL's and UNC's. Plus a worthy OOC.

Yes, yes, yes...everyone knows UK and Florida...since billy D anyways...are always a handful. So having Florida and UK in the FF....well...that's great....but far from comparing SEC Basketball with SEC football.

Should I quote you guys on this dominant SEC basketball conference? I just want to make sure I'm talking like the big guys.

Kentucky is now an even-odds favorite to take down the NCAA title, according to at least one sports book.

Bovada.lv is one of the leading online sports books, and they are currently listing Kentucky as a 1:1 favorite to win the NCAA Tournament. A sportsbook specialist was unable to confirm it's the lowest line for a team ever heading into conference season, but I'll say that it's the lowest line I've personally ever seen for an NCAA Champion heading into conference season.

They are also listing Kentucky as a 1.5-1 chance to enter the NCAA Tournament undefeated. That's a remarkably low line, considering KenPom is currently listing the Wildcats as a 24 percent chance to go unbeaten. Vegas also has the Wildcats as a 5-1 chance to go undefeated for the entire season, including the NCAA Tournament.

Basically, we're entering unchartered territory with this stuff. The Wildcats have looked vulnerable only when they allow themselves to be. If their focus wavers, there's obviously a chance they'll lose. But seeing as how they're considered at least a 77 percent favorite in every game remaining this season, it's starting to look more and more likely that the Wildcats could really run the table this season.

There's nothing else at the link, but here it is:

didn't get to watch the game since I was out of town Saturday. Dvr'd it and am watching now. Can't tell you how much i LOVED seeing Ullis not even think about flopping. He was 100% concerned with the defensive play. Huge kudos to him for that.

Marcus smart would have flown into the stands if that happened to him (and I like him now, i'm a celts fan!)

Saw a flagrant early in the arizona unlv game that probably cost us the game, putting Zeus in foul trouble for pretty much the whole game. There was nothing there, but the defender "acted" like he got hit hard and they called it. No blood, clear basketball play, but they called it and it ruined that game. Sucks.

jonvi, looks like 'cuse picked a good year to suck. I mean, I am pissed that we have a great team and it's very likely that we're all just playing for seconds. Hope i'm wrong, but it's obvious that Kentucky's best is clearly going to beat everyone else's best. Hope to god they don't live up to the potential if it comes down to Arizona in the final four.

I wish flopping were a tech like in the NBA, especially since Duke and Louisville would have trouble making the big dance giving up 100 a game

Yeah....Boeheim is forced to play a couple of young kids this year. Hey Wait! :tsk: Sucks? wth?

I do believe they are starting to get a better feel for how they each play. The offensive production is getting better. They still have a ways to go in locking down the SU Zone D.

Anytime there is a one and done tourney....you never know. SU could take em out. :yahoo:

LOL; Jones was the worst bit of acting I've seen in long time....and I agree; if they have to take the time to view the replay unnecessarily holding up the game; a technical foul should be called. Harrell had to be embarrassed knowing in full view, he looked foolish.

I haven't seen the Cuse this year. Are their two big guys progressing?

Syracuse had a good game at home against Long Beach the other day. Cooney, a player I thought would be better by now, actually played a good game. Syracuse will win some games as they still have size and talent. Syracuse played Nova close and has a win over Iowa. That looks good to me.

I think the Gators will be dangerous come tourney time, and have the best chance, other than maybe Arkansas, to beat UK before the tournament. It will take a crazy hot day from 3 point land though IMO

I don't think Florida is even going to make the tourney. Already have 5 losses, including a bad loss to FSU. IF they don't beat UK, which I don't think they will, that puts them at 8 losses(assuming a loss to UK or another team in the SEC Tourney) They can really only afford maybe 2 other losses, a 10 loss Florida team is going to be squarely on the bubble, and my guess is that it puts them on the outside looking in.

Would a 23-10(14-4) record get them in? Outside of Kentucky, and then to a certain extent LSU/Arkansas the SEC doesn't offer up many chances at a quality win. Bama has a solid RPI right now, but no top 100 wins, same with UGA, although they have a solid win against Seton Hall.

I think the SEC will get 4 when it's all said and done. UK, LSU, Arkansas, and one of Florida/UGA/Bama

Like rune said, they are looking better then they did early on. I knew SU would struggle early after losing Ennis, Fair and Grant...which were something like 80% of the offense last year.

The two bigs...Christmas is anchoring the 5 spot and is a senior this year. The newbs are starting to feed him the ball more ... and he's making better decision on kicking it out when double up.

The other big, Coleman had knee surgery last year and looks like he will redshirt at this point.

SU is getting better and should be in the T25 as we go on. They are no where near what is needed to compete with Duke, UofL, AZ and UK. But next year looks real good.

I think if LSU could be a top 10 team next season if they don't lose any underclassmen to the draft

I agree, with Simmons and Blakeney coming in, they will have a ton of talent. They will have 4-5 pro's on that roster next year IMO, IF they all stay.
