Wow. Phil Mickelson having a meltdown. Just badly missed a putt and went and hit it again before it was even stopped
Incredible !!

If Phil wasn't such the fan favourite, I wonder what the general reaction would be. It'll be interesting to hear his post round comments.
Many of his fans will be upset by his actions. If it was Tiger I don't believe any of his fans would think it was a big deal.

I just sat down and caught that clip...I've never seen a pro do anything like that before.

Me neither. I hope he doesn't try to make up an excuse (I thought the ball stopped) and just says frustration got the better of him.

Phil just lost it. He just snapped, putting his ball before it had stopped moving as it rolled past the hole and downhill. Wow. He should just withdraw at this point. It will be interesting to hear what he has to say about it. Very uncharacteristic for him.
It was very surprising to me... Did he have a brain fart?

He started well today but had been struggling for several holes. Apparently it finally got to him. He was laughing as he did it as if it was a practice round and he was just screwing around. But it was a very bad look. I can't wait to hear what he has to say about it.

Well...no. lol

But Rory gave it a good run...Spieth...can we call that a choke on his 18th?...the lie wasn't THAT imo.
Something is in his head. He was #1 in putting last year and now he's #199

I heard Mickelson played the fool out there today.

It was wacky for sure but of course Joe Buck goes completely overboard with it.

They go down the road with the "kids look up to him"?

Like he was walking down the fairway with his pants down and giving the gallery the finger.

As much as I love Phil, he should be dq’d for that breach.

My whole thing is he should have definitely known it was still rolling and there's no way to rectify it. He putted again while it was moving from a better position than if he let it stop and who's to say where it would have stopped. You could say that with a lot of penalties (guys tamping down at address in deep rough, like the ball is staying still when they're doing that) as well though and I guess it would open a can of worms.

You kinda said it yourself....

First round Fox were basically following only one group, and praised Tiger till the end...even though he finished 8 over.

The general commentary was amateurish., listening to Azinger or Faxon try to dumb it down to the common masses....althought they had to stop and repeat their babbles so in their minds....everyone understood....

....but....Tiger was solid! Except for holes 3,4, 6, 11, 14, 16, 17.......
That just sickens me the way they fawn all over him. He's a has been. The old Tiger Woods is not coming back

In his interview with Starnge it sounded like he was making an excuse for inexcusable behavior.

This course is playing like how you would hope a course would play for the BO. I like it.

Well that was a quick shedding of 3 strokes. This tournament is wide open. This is finally Fowlers time. I see a run.

Why, because there's a few articles you could choose not to read or the occasional comments about him? Golf fans know who are the contenders and who aren't. The thing they need to clue into in the media is that with the level of athleticism of the game and the science that they put into every aspect of their games that you'll never see a dominant player of his level ever again. I just don't see how that's possible at this point.

Weak excuse from Phil there. He wasn't thinking about 2 shots vs letting it roll. He just said screw it.

Brutal conditions like this Stenson's 3 wood might come in handy.

A lot of the top golfers basically shut down when they're completely out of contention. At that point they're only out there for the sponsors.
