Terrible thus far - 6 over thru 11 last I checked.
I hope the wind stays up all day.
I don't want a big bunch of the field to get screwed on a bad draw.
I saw Spieth's triple on 11.
Hit a very good bunker shot, but it went inches too far, and rolled down into an area of the fairway that made it a horribly difficult to get down in two. He got down in 4.
Mickelson, McIlroy, Spieth & Day combined 30 over last I checked. Yikes!
Wow. I'll change my pick to Justin Thomas then. lol It was a coin flip between him and Day.
It's predicted to be a baked out course by the weekend so I think the wind will stay in play on some level most of the weekend.
Yeah I saw that +3 by Jordan...the danger I thought was trying to get it too close and he brought that drop off behind the hole into play and it was always going to be a tough up and down from where he put that bunker shot.
Double bogey awaits on every hole it seems...Poulter just missed a birdie putt, but one of only two guys under par.
Of the 78 on the course only 2 are 1 under.
Yea ...looking like old school US Open.
Tiger... +3 after 1
Geeze...DJ...-2, now a possible lost ball on #6?
Need you to come through! Find that damn ball!!!
Okay good...now make your bogey and get off that hole. Oh...gets a drop, maybe the lie gets better.
I guess we're going to see Tiger's every shot today.. as Fox takes over they open with "Tiger Woods only 5 shots off the lead heading for #10". "Only" 5 shots off the lead after 9 holes.. yeah, I'm on the edge of my seat.
What a brutal test with that wind. The course looks great though.
Thank you Paul Levy President of the PGA.
The news of his DUI breaks on the first day of the US Open.
193 DOUBLE BOGEYS OR WORSE TODAY.
Graeme McDowell’s shot out of a bunker hilariously backfired at the US Open
Ha ha! he looked like the piece of shit he is today. Time to get off his dick.
It does. I despise the way he treated people in the golf world. Good to see him getting his comeuppance.
what makes Tiger a POS?
The way he treated everyone around the game. Disrespecting fans; not allowing the Minolta swing cam to view his swing, dictating to tournaments about what he would expect at their tournament, allowing his caddy to throw a photographer's camera in the water without firing him. It goes on and on. The guy thought he was above the game.
Total carnage...but generally looked fair. The greens were spotty at best. Fox coverage was pretty terrible.
Okay. I hear ya.
There are several pro athletes that were a-holes to a lot of people and I was raised that you reap what you sew. Tiger may have been an a-hole to a lot of people, but we know he was an a-hole to his wife and imo his kids as well.
And yes...I think he'll pay for that the rest of his life. He's still a very rich man, but the thing he wanted most in this world (19) he's never going to get and there will always be a hole in his life because of it...nah...you don't have to ever like the guy, applaud for him, etc....despise, it's a bit strong for me, but I understand we're all wired differently.
I was a big MLB fan at one time in my life and I've got baseball friends that still hate Pete Rose...It was never hate for me...big time disappointment but I got over it...I'm not a big Rose fan, nor am I a big Tiger fan, but I've long let go my issues.
