Earl Thomas officially doesn't report to camp. No surprises thus far.

Sounds like there is going to be significant competition at the RB position... I'm pumped about this position... Can't wait to see what they bring to the table... I keep forgetting about Prosise... He has the talent... If he could ever stay on the field, he could be a contributor as well...

Malik McDowell was officially released... Sounds like there is something else wrong with Deion Jordan...

Could be into the season as well but I don't think he'll take it that far with him being a FA in the off season.

I generally side with teams when it comes to players in contract years but I really think the team is screwing this up.

I'm going to disagree with you on this one, flyerhawk. The second he jumped into the Cowboys locker room last season pretty much indicated that he had zero interest in staying in Seattle unless they threw money at his feet. Also, the poor man is the 4th highest paid Free Safety for the 2018 season.

I agree with Tech_God Earl early on took a aggressive stance over his contract, saying he couldn’t see himself playing this season without a contract, the Cowboys locker room thing. He just seem to send a vibe that he wants out.

Yeah Earl burned some bridges when he was caught on camera all buddy buddy with the Cowboys Head Coach. I have NEVER seen that type of thing before. It also left a BAD taste in my mouth that he really showed a lot of disrespect to the Seahawks by doing something like that.

Team doesn't have the cap money this year but next year is a different story. Or they franchise tag him to continue to work out a deal.

But we extend Brown

3 seasons/ 35 million

I'd have to see the particulars before I like this deal. He's been good for the Hawks on the left side - but his age could catch up to him before he gets to the end of the contract.

OK, I'll try my spin/opinion/

Sure, NFL players have a short career, but they make massive money. Most of them. Like ET has.
$10 Million is MORE than most of us will EVER make in a lifetime, and ET has exceeded that by far.
I do feel they should earn HUGE $$$$, BUT ET already has.

BUT, the team needs to exercise their options, because PA has Billions BUT is ONLY allowed to spend so much.

Earl has already earned enough to live the life of luxuary. FACT.

They signed KAM, and it will cost the Seahawks. Not PA, but the Seahawks. Kam is NOT retired, so will continue to draw his guaranteed salary and affect the CAP. This HURTS the Team.

If Kam retired now, it would hurt the cap more.

So, In terms of Extending Earl, I think the Hawks should, but NOT as the Highest paid SS.
Extend Earl for 2 years, this year plus 2 more, and pay him 11-12 Million per year.
