Also don't see why Philly will trade him. Have to think if the "process" is really working then playoffs is a real goal for them
Yup...But, I might have that wrong.

I think it only counts if you resign with same Team.

Like, Shabazz or Niko, unless the Bulls pick up his option, then he's fucked.

Otherwise, Beasley, Jeff Green, Rose would have NTC too.

I hope, after yesterdays game, Clarkson is off the trade block for the Lakers.

There are very few bench players that are better than him.

There are plenty this year.

Williams, Gordon are easy ones.

But, Johnathon Simmons, Jeremy Lamb, Tyreke Evans, Will Barton are better.

Depending on what you label Kuz and Randle as, he's not even the best 6th man on his Team.

He's a good scorer.

But, you trade his ass without a second thought if it gets you a star or the cap space to get one this Summer.

If you can't land a big fish, he's a spark plug off the bench on a good contract.

He's a bit to selfish to start over , or next to, Lonzo....imo

I don't think Lou Williams and Tyreke Evans are bench players any more.

Because of injuries.

How about Hood, Johnathon Simmons, Will Barton, Lamb?

Those are just a few off the top of my head based on stats.

I would take Smart and Rosier over him too , shit stats and all, because they affect winning.

I'm not trying to shit on Clarkson.

But, truth is ...he only affects one end of the floor, sometimes at the detriment to ball movement.

He's a nice bench guy., not a foundational piece that you exclude from trades.

Shorter Cedric Ceballos.

Posted this on the NBA General thread last night but will post here as well.

Spurs should reach out to the Kings and/or Hornets to ask about George Hill & Kemba.

They benched Tony permanently.

Agree.

I really think that Walker is the only big name player that is likely to move. And he could go anywhere.

This was my knock on him as well, but he really seems re-focused the past 2 games. He's also getting his shots pretty easily. That could be a result of the opponent, or maybe Walton is finally getting through to him. 33-7-7 and 29-10-6 in the last 2 games, despite coming off the bench behind Ennis to keep his role consistent.

Stats comparison (not digging too deep):

Clarkson: 14/3/3, .433, 23.2 min, 17.38 PER
Hood: 16/2/3, .413, 28.3 min, 14.69 PER
Simmons: 14/2/4, .458, 28.8 min, 12.36 PER
Barton: 14/4/5, .439, 31 min, 16.13 PER
Lamb: 14/2/5, .449, 25.6 min, 17.85 PER
Smart: 10/5/4, .352, 30.2 min, 9.62 PER
Rozier: 9/2/4, .388, 23 min, 13.35 PER

Of course, the defense always gets lost in the stats, which is where Smart especially brings value.

Smart and Rosier's impact is not measured in stats.

As you mentioned, defensive effort gets lost.

Agree.

But, that's the problem with Jordan.

He's great at getting his and can coexist with others as long as he is the focal point.

You take the ball out of his hands, or if he is relegated to 3 rd option, he hurts your team because his only focus is scoring.

Let's be real.

You aren't going very far if he is your #1 or 2 option.

He's Jamal Crawford, Lou Williams...not Lillard, Curry.

So, no way is he untradeable.

Tristan's good as gone imo, along with that Nets pick...
If I'm any other team it's gonna take TT, Love AND that Nets pick - especially since we don't really know yet where that pick is going to land in terms of top 5...

Wonder if the Raptors trade anyone. They're playing some good basketball this year, be interesting to see if they make any moves at the deadline.

Sure, but none of the rest of those guys are lead PGs. Clarkson is also locked down to a reasonable contract for 2 more seasons, not sure about the rest of those guys. He could be a starting PG elsewhere.

I definitely wouldn't call him untradeable. If anything, this surge makes him easier to trade, and worth a bit more in that trade.
