We haven't exactly been hitting the cover off the ball for the last few weeks, so I just don't see us dealing Cano at all. The season is not over and we'll need offense in August and September, so you can't deny adding Cano's bat would be a huge plus in this lineup for the postseason push, even if he can't play in the playoffs. Sure, they'll have to get creative to get him in the lineup, but his bat is needed.

I completely agree. As much as I'm still a little sour about what he did they need the left handed bat.

Offensively you aren't getting a ton from C, 1B, 2B, 3B and CF

C and 3rd you are kinda stuck probably. Just gotta hope Seagar and Zunino can improve.

CF I think needs to be from the outside although there isn't much out there for CF. Healy just has been underwhelming at best and Dee doesn't do much at the plate.

Seag's and Mikey are streaky hitters, Seagar is getting hot again now,
@Podunkparte makes a solid point, I want Robbie gone for what ever I can get for his ass , but his points are spot on gonna need the bat come August and September.....

I wouldn't be pissed if they made a trade for Jones, sure it would be a rental, and his numbers are down this season, but to come back home and re find his swing and we know his defense is better then most we have here already...

i think what will likly happen if they do.(trade cano )( then harnandez is prob next and texas would be my..guess)..is they will trade for prospects then, trade for a starting pitcher
#2 guy R/R or acquire that pitcher in the off season..free agency or trade..

next on list is a better utility guy..which could also be traded for..with more prospects...more easily than a #2 starting pitcher

the last thing but not least is a backup outfield guy at tacoma lvl ...who could be called up just in case
right now ..us here( we).have targeted bruxton( i have always liked cordero.(SD)but)...a bit..but it could be anyone ..who would or could fit there..really

but that is the most likly way ..going with the odds(lol)..and most profitable(i think)..cuz you can get prospects at the same time..as filling the holes....on the rostar

yeah to move forward .and to not throw a.. wrench..into the gears of the team that is winning NOW
i think it is the best idea..for the organization..do they need HR's ..yeah i also think they do

could cano give the mariners some HR.. yeah he could...but so could someone else..without going backwards
what i have said above is the way to continue..to move forward..and a healthy thing...for the club

but cano can not go to the playoffs....and they could replace him in the off season at the latest
(better to do it now)

so mostly ...he is a distraction ..for the team..until next year...when he can do the whole year

so with a team bound for the playoffs ...they need to cut bait..IMO..and give cano an audition with another team
which could also trade him in the off season...i dont think they would..but whoever would or does
would already be looking at next year
like minnesota or toronto

yeah .......so it would be like whiplash..to get him back ..only to lose him for the playoffs..in which in future years,.... he will not be in the video's
of the mariners playoffs after 20 years

This team is only "bound for the playoffs" as much as a team can be in early July. Again, they will need offensive help in August and September and you're not finding another Robinson Cano out there. The best play is to find a way to work his bat into the lineup to supplement the team and ensure you make the playoffs, cuz it's no sure thing at this point.

and all they would have to do..is get blackman as a rent a player ...to replace him

charlie had 37 HR's last year and has 15 this year..make that 16 that i think is better than cano
275 ave..that is about the same

makes ya cry......... but it is what it is

if you were going to trade for a pitcher..cinncinati would have the guy you want ..but just like everyone else they wont give him up...prob..unless it is for the price of the farm
here are a couple good cinnci pitchers

Problem is there is literally nothing on the trade market to help the offense. Adam Jones possibly, but he isn't a better fielder than Heredia and his offense isn't exactly deserving of giving up anything but a bag of balls and every other team tanking doesn't really have a big contract to deal...which is the only players available to the Mariners since the farm system is the worst in the league.

yeah so it fits....trade cano for prospects.......... then get blackman rent a player to fill the void...while sending heredia down
solves two of the three holes

and adds a few prospects..... cuz ya gotta get more for cano than ya pay for blackman...cuz cano has five years on contract...and blackman is a rent a player

but i was wrong on solving two of three

overall it would be a healthy thing..for the mariners though
