Well with no QB to throw the ball to a 9 rout guy...I can understand it hahaa. We have a boat load of cash now...lets see what they do with it...there are some big names out there and we have a lot of draft picks...should be interesting.

Niners have Kerley, Burbridge, Smelter, Ellington, Rogers and new acquired DeAndre Carter.. All except Kerley are unproven. Reports say they are interested in Pryor and maybe Garcon because of his familiarity with Shanahan.

Ellington is small and is more of a 3rd down and slot guy assuming he can even ever stay healthy. I would think Burbridge is the same kind of WR as Elilington. The 49ers need to draft or sign a WR in free agency.

Torrey shouldn't have been signed to begin with.

Yea, give us a wide receiver whose skill set is exactly what our quarterback can't do. Makes perfect sense.

Torrey Smith would have been good to have in 2012 and 2013 but he was too late.

are the chargers gonna retain dontrelle inman? he's restricted, right? i noticed him towards the latter half of last season, he's pretty solid, i think he might be somebody that can really help push an offense.

I don't know much about Wentz. He needs to be able to throw a good deep ball for Torrey Smith to be valuable

So true. A QB who can throw the deep ball with some accuracy. If he flourishes in Philadelphia, then we know it was the QB and maybe the offensive scheme.

I believe it was the QB and partially the offensive scheme. I would also add the 49ers didn't have a true #1. Boldin was past his prime. Torrey Smith needs a true no. #1 WR playing besides him. I bet if he was playing somewhere like Pittsburgh with Big Ben at QB and Antonio Brown, he would play really well there. Over the past couple of years in SF, Smith would get open deep but neither Kap nor Gabbert could get him the ball accurately.
