So, Mr. Kawasaki, how does it feel to be called back up to the bigs?

Toronto has been one of the most disappointing teams in baseball, sitting in last place at 59-73 following an offseason full of huge moves, but general manager Alex Anthopoulos told reporters today that manager John Gibbons’ job is not in jeopardy.
“I actually think, the in-game managing, he has done a great job,” Anthopoulos said, [ame=""]via Gregor Chisholm[/ame] of MLB.com. “I think it’s so easy to pin results on one person. I think it’s convenient. I just don’t think blame falls on one person. There’s blame to share.”
This is Gibbons’ second stint as Blue Jays manager. He previously held the job from mid-2004 to mid-2008, when a different front office regime fired him with a 35-39 record. Overall he’s 364-378 (.491) as Toronto’s manager. And now we know he’ll be back in 2014.

Too bad your team lost to the Sinstripes tonight.

I suspect most non-New Yorkers would cheer if you finished ahead of them
in the standings this year. The Sinstripes finishing last is something I'd like to see
much more often.

Better luck tonight, Blue Jays!

It will be a very pleasant night for me if you and my Red Sox both win!

I'm back wishing you luck against the Sinstripes in the upcoming series.

Too bad you can't actually catch them in the standings, but you can help knock them
out of the Wild Card chase.

The Mets are already eliminated, FYI. So there's a chance for a totally NYC free
baseball post-season. Anyone know when the last one of those happened?

GO TORONTO!

BEAT NEW YORK!

You did it! Sinstripes that much closer to elimination!

Thank you!

They are going with the status quo and doing nothing in Free Agency. The status quo was the worst team in the division so I'm not particularly optimistic.

However, I'm kind of okay with it in a way. AA didn't do crap since he got to Toronto until last year when he went nuts and spent money, made moves, and revamped the team. And it failed miserably...but I still applaud his effort. I can see why after the big push they will be demanding these "studs" start to earn their paycheck in Year 2 (Buehrle, Dickey, Reyes, Cabrera, etc.).

Rotation will probably be:
1. Dickey
2. Buehrle
3. Morrow
4. Happ/Rogers
5. Hutchinson/Drabek

Pretty sad. Not a single guy on there scares anyone. Morrow is the only one capable of being a true Ace and he's injury-plagued and this will be like the 5th year we are still talking about his elite potential.

The defense is still atrocious. The offense will probably be a little better, but that was never the problem.

The Orioles made some impressive moves, Yanks got Tanaka, Rays secured Price for another year and Red Sox didn't do much (but considering their status quo...that is probably acceptable). Predicting the Jays are anything but last place would seem to require alcohol.
