So I just saw an ESPN article which removes and adds players from the NBA's top 50 players of all time list. Here's the link:

The NBA’s 50 Greatest Players list: The remix

The only real issue I had was that they cut Clyde Drexler, but added Reggie Miller. I don't think there's any way Reggie was a better player than Clyde and don't feel that's deserved.

Nash is debatable imo, but he was really great at his peak and a 2 time MVP.

Ray Allen is probably closer on the bubble for me. His peak was amazing and he was not only just a great shooter but a great scorer too. His numbers from his Bucks and Sonics tenure were amazing.

Steph's career is a bit short right now, but based on trajectory and the way he's changed the game he'll probably end up there. He'll go down as the greatest shooter of all time at least 2 time MVP.

Paul Pierce is another on the fence for me. I don't think anything really about him screams top 50 of all time. I'd probably leave him off this list.

No Brainers for me:
Lebron
Kidd
Duncan
Garnett
Nowitzki
Kobe
Iverson
Wade
Durant

13/10/3/2 aint bad for a big man with no feet.

to add, he was on the UCLA teams...those count. its not the NBA HOF.

he is the only player to have ever won an NBA Finals MVP, Sixth Man Award, and regular season MVP.

Well, it was always just my opinion. I'm not gonna clobber anybody else who thinks he should have been listed. I felt like he could have been so much more if not for all his injuries

When the very first list came out the #1 omission I noticed was Dominique Wilkins.

he disappointed me here.

How many two time MVPs are not on the top 50 list? Durant has been a top 3 player in the league pretty much his entire career. I think both easily make the top 50. There are at least 3 or 4 guys I would drop from the top 50 before them.

Pretty much agree with the altered list. But to have Wade over James Worthy? Fuck right off!!!

Also think a player shouldn't be eligible for the list until they retire.

In my opinion, whoever left Bill Walton on that 2017 list, but put Steve Nash and Iverson on instead was not playing with a full deck. Stephen Curry has not earned the right to be on that list quite yet IMO and I'm on the fence about Shaq 'Neal, and some of the others. In my opinion, a person should have explain his position player by player - I have seen it that way and it makes more sense.

I disagree on Miller vs. Allen.

Allen could do a lot more things on the court than Miller could. People remember Allen most for his time with the Celtics and Heat, but the reality is that his prime years came in Milwaukee and Seattle.

By the way, Klay Thompson won't make this list anytime soon, but he is a more athletic, better defensive version of Miller. He doesn't have the offensive versatility of prime Ray Ray, but Klay today is as good or better overall, IMO. Both are better than prime Miller to me.

There are quite a few current players who could/should be on this list in a few years. I still think there are a few pretty easy cuts when that time comes too. Allen and Miller would both be near the top of it.

Agreed.

They lumped his college and NBA careers together.

The original list put young guys on there too like Shaq. In 1997 Shaq hadn't done a whole lot yet. But even then you knew what he'd be. I think Curry is worthy for the same reason, and Durant.
