I know you will not do this again, but if you do, I would recomend eliminating any of the 19th century guys...

do it by decades next time, is what I am thinking. either top 32 overall of decade or top 8 @ each position each decade.

Usually we look at the pre 1900 guys and just not trust their numbers... This is a guy that I actually do trust his numbers... Look at his size... He was 6-3 220 pounds... that is huge... Most of the other players I have seen have been tiny, which makes me always think that their numbers were skewed because of the time they played in... This guy, I think at least had a chance to be very good in modern day baseball...

He had double digit HRs 7 times in his career in the days where nobody hit HRs.

With all that said... I do think Fred McGriff is one of the most under-rated players in baseball history... He lead the league in HRs 2 seasons, he hit 30 or more HRs 10 times in his career... And had an OPS over 900 8 times in his career... and has a career OPS of .886... McGriff's only problem was he was terrible defensively, but he is a first baseman, of all positions that is the best to bad at defense... And the only reason McGriff is so low in WAR is because of the time he played in...

So I will go McGriff...

Remember those commercials McGriff did for that learn to play defense academy, you'd think they would have had someone else doing those... But the Crime Dog was a very good offensive player. Like Milk I believe he is underrated.
