And I'm surprised that the Trevor Knight sugar bowl win over Alabama didn't make it.

Any respectable list would have at least 1 OU beat down of Texas.

This might make you sympathize with Michigan Wolverines fans, if only for a second - SBNation.com

Imagine having to watch your team lose 23 percent of the 21 greatest games of the millennium. This is brutal. It gets worse.

A full 31 percent of the 22 greatest games since 2000 involve Ohio State and/or Michigan, and every single one of them goes against the Wolverines.

And none of these even involve Rich Rodriguez or Brady Hoke, whose eras UM fans also had to endure. What haunted treasure crypt did y'all disturb??

My favorite game was MIchigan's win over Notre Dame in 2011 (35-31), dubbed the "miracle under the lights."

With 23 seconds left on the clock, Denard Robinson, under pressure, scrambled right and lofted a pass from his own 15-yard line to Jeremy Gallon who caught the ball underneath coverage at the Notre Dame 45-yard line. Gallon cut across the field and went out of bounds at the 16-yard line leaving just eight seconds on the clock. Despite Kirk Herbstreit's urging Michigan go for a field goal to tie the game, Michigan went for the win. Denard Robinson dropped back and found Roy Roundtree for the 16-yard touchdown, his only reception of the night. It was awesome!
yeah, that was probably the wildest fourth quarter I've ever seen. I still remember how my heart stopped after Rees hit Riddick with 30 seconds to give ND the lead.

Not exactly a mistake-free performance from Denard, but 338 yards on 24 pass attempts is stupid (108 rushing on 16 carries too).

this was one of the most bizarre games I've ever watched. Back and forth and then Auburn pulled away on a few turnovers. Amazing how Arkansas went from being up 43-37 with 14 minutes to go to being down by 22 with 6:30 left.

Denard Robinson was not a "great" QB, but he was one of the most exciting players to ever wear a Michigan uniform, IMO. I loved watching him.

The problem I have with that game is that it really held no national implications. To be one of the "greatest" games IMO, it has to mean something on a national level.

He was fun to watch, but it's hard to think about those years now. They were awful and he was one of the few bright spots. I can only imagine what would have happened if he came in now under Harbaugh and was played as a RB from the get go. His talent, and NFL career, were wasted by playing him at QB and asking him to throw the ball.

Your favorite win was beating a mediocre ND team? lol

Never mind the mediocrity of BOTH teams, it was a great, come-from-behind last-second (literally) win. IMO, fans of CFB would do well to get back to enjoying games like the one I mention. There is only one national champion but many exciting games.

lol, that team was arguably Michigan's best team in the last decade.

while that's true, September games rarely ever have anything at stake.

Significantly so.

they played a relatively soft schedule in 2011 and they lost by 2 scores to the best team they played all year (Sparty), not to mention they lost to a 7-6 Iowa squad. Not to mention Virginia Tech was pretty unimpressive for a team in a BCS bowl. It was still a fun team to watch and had some of my favorite Michigan players (Kovacs, Denard, Jake Ryan), but they didn't really beat anyone of note. Meanwhile, the last two teams played much tougher schedules and had some impressive wins over the likes of Colorado, Penn State (2016), Florida (2015), Wisconsin (2016) and Northwestern (2015). 5 of their 6 losses under Harbaugh could have gone either way. Not o mention last year's defense is probably the best Michigan defense I've ever seen.

you could make a case for the 2011 squad being better than 2015 (they did rank 9th in FEI in 2011 vs 14th in 2015), but the 2016 squad was 4th.

I think the last two teams were better.

I'd say last year's team probably was, but the 2011 team did have the highest ranking of any team in this stretch(#9 in the Coaches Poll)

Fun one for me. CSU wins after being down by 15 to Wazzu with 4 min to play in the 2013 New Mexico Bowl
